AP's 2 year old son was beaten unconscious by the boyfriend of his baby mamma. Kid reportedly has severe head injuries.

Horrible situation. Hope the kid pulls through okay.

And believe me, I can understand being so frustrated and sleep deprived that you want to just scream but for god's sake take a step back and think about what you are doing. This wasnt even a baby, this is a 2 yr old, a 2 year old can walk and talk and probably beg you to stop. I'm fucking furious over here just thinking about it. I hate people so much.

Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son is currently in critical condition in a South Dakota hospital ... after he was allegedly severely beaten by the man dating the mother of his child, TMZ has learned.

The Minnesota Vikings running back immediately left his team to be with his son.

Officials tell us they've arrested the suspect, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson ... who's been charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant.

According to law enforcement, emergency responders arrived to the apartment where Peterson's son was living at 5:46 PM on Wednesday ... and found the child unresponsive.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and medical experts determined the injuries were consistent with abuse.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... the child suffered severe head injuries.

Yes, the thought does cross my mind but I can only control what I can control unfortunately. I can't spend my time worrying about it though, because I'd always be worried. I'm just happy that my son and I have a very close relationship. At this point, he's mature enough to tell me if he thought he was in any kind of danger or threatened by whomever his mother might be dating.

You have to know what's going on and know who is around your kid.

Fortunately, my daughter's mother is pretty reasonable. I could see her dating a meat head or hipster before a lunatic or dangerous person. It hasnt been an issue. I understand it can be difficult for some dads though.

To be fair, while the timing of the joke was terrible and definitely not appropriate, there are those of us who understand the desire to lighten a situation. I won't speak for others, but I wouldn't worry about people thinking you are a monster for something you write on a message board.
