Post subject:  In today's NFL world of "Next Man Up".....

If you were a GM,does it really make sense to give (example) your star LB 10 mil and his 2 backups 300 grand each? Is the better solution to find 3 LB's of equal value at say,3 mil a piece. That way,you have a pretty decent backup in the "next man up" world of the NFL (but no superstars). I realize you could not do this at every position,but a GM has to decide if a "star" brings more value then 3 competent free agents you could bring in at the same price.
