Just watched a segment on ESPN where they were comparing these 2 offenses and then asked Dick Vermeil how he thought these 2 teams compared.

Are you fucking kidding me?

The QBs are the only thing that are even close to comparing.

Marshall Faulk at RB was WAYYYYYY better than anything Denver has.

Torry Holt, Issac Bruce, Az Hakim, and Ricky Proehl at WR ...forget about it.

ESPN is so stupid. No comparison at all.

well

Warner < Manning
Faulk >>> Knownshown
Rams WR > Denver WR (This is close IMO, demaryius, welker and decker are very good WR's)
Roland Williams << Julius Thomas (We all know Martz could care less about TE, but worth mentioning JT as he is a red-zone weapon)

oh I still hate STL, but this is just stupid.

I felt bad for Vermeil, you know he wanted to say, "are you fucking nuts?" But he did the diplomatic thing and kindly said that he thought the Rams were the better overall group.

Ya'll are crazy. I HATE Manning but this Broncos team would demolish that Rams team.

Give me a 2103 Bronco over a 1999 Ram any day! The Mileage alone on the 99 kills it

I attended the 1999 Rams/Vikings playoff game as a HS senior. I had a single ticket in the nosebleeds, but was able to ride down with my buddy and his dad. The older couple next to me ended up buying me a few beers. Never asked how old I was. Just kept offering up Bud Lights.

RFDC, you have to count the TE. Thomas is like a WR out there.

With the way the game is called now I don't see how any defense slows the Rams down.

The Broncos aren't even that remarkable in this era. The Saints and Packers have been equally as good recently.

Did Vermeil cry during this segment?

Exactly.

If you guys who think the Broncos would take this, then I expect to see the Broncos win the Superbowl this year.

You cant imagine how wrong you are

Rams recievers used to get Mugged. With current NFL rules they'd average 50

'99 Rams could probably average 45+ ppg at home with the current rules. Saying the QBs are a wash is just wrong, but everything else favors the Rams by a significant margin.

Warner in 99 threw for 4353 yds and 41 TDs.

Peyton is having an amazing year, but can you imagine what Warner would do with that crew around him in todays league?

TE's do count when your TE scores 12 TD's in a season

I may be crazy here, but I saw when looking up the 1999 rams schedule they played the bear in the pre-season that year... didnt trent green get seriously injured that game paving the way for warner to come out of no where?

But we both agree the talent surrounding Warner far exceeds the talent surrounding Peyton. I think that mostly invalidates the advantage Peyton has with the new rules.

Nobody had mentioned the offensive lines yet I don't think. Peyton has an above average one. Warner had one of the best in the past two decades.

The only significant advantage for the Rams is RB.

I cant believe I am defending Manning. I feel so gross.
