The best part about this is no more Mike Mayock & his PA speech impediment on my TV. Yes, I prefer Phil Simms. He doesn't bother me the way he does others. We talked about that.

I thought I heard today that the NFL Network is going to simulcast the CBS broadcast. Seems like an odd deal.

Phil Simms is a great winner and a Super Bowl Champion. He is okay in my book, despite his poor announcing skills.

It is a disgrace that in Giants Stadium, that old hack Joe Namath got to do the coin flip in a ridiculous fur coat while Super Bowl great Phil Simms had to watch. I am not interested in what they are presently calling the stadium - it is Giants Stadium. The Jets are pathetic outcasts and should go back to Queens with the Mets. Ha ha ha!

Without TNF I'm canceling my sports tier. No reason for NFL Network anymore.

This is good news because CBS broadcasts in 1080P and it shows! Football on FOX comes to your screen at 780 and just not as good. I'm not sure about ABC/ESPN or NBC. It just seems like I get the better telecast on CBS.

hey that's fine by me.... any chance there is for more free-to-air NFL football is all good in my book.

now we gotta see what happens when london gets their team, i.e. will there be weekly nationwide broadcasts of the breakfast/brunch game, or will it only be when your team's playing the london jags? unless they do 12-1pm kickoffs in london (6-7am out here) and the games are over by ~10am, i can't see the NFL necessarily wanting to undercut all of the pregame programs on ESPN/NFLN/etc..... but hey money talks and bullshit walks, so you never know.

You don't get Red Zone without the NFL Channel, right?

I have WOW cable. I didn't get Redzone with the NFL Network.

TNF was probably the worst show on NFL network.

Actually CBS will also do 2 Saturday games in last story I read. As for the last 8 NFL network games CBS is going to do them but air only NFL network. Unless I read it very wrong?

I only hope this raises the quality of matchups, as opposed to giving us Texans vs. Jags or Lions vs. Browns.

I think CBS will produce the games, but NFL Network will have the last 8 along with A Saturday doubleheader in Week 15.

I would say you will get top matches, something CBS agreed too, because Thursday was a good ratings night for CBS.

I think the big loser is ESPN here, I could see them getting them getting more bad matchups.

To the colonel's point, every game after week six or so should be flex friendly. Probably impossible, but important to consider nonetheless. The Jaguars and Raiders should be banned from TV for five years at least. Doubt anyone will notice.

In fairness, they asked Jeff Hostetler but he had a horseshoes tournament going on that day

Right, I believe Red Zone is a separate monthly fee.

I hope they do this again next year but I doubt it. There was a Madden anniversary edition for $100 that came with a subscription to Sunday Ticket that you could use on your computer/tablet/phone. I barely played Madden but used the Ticket every week..
