Said Mr. Wells: “The Report concludes that three starters on the Dolphins offensive line, Richie Incognito, John
Jerry and Mike Pouncey, engaged in a pattern of harassment directed at not only Jonathan Martin, but also
another young Dolphins offensive lineman and an assistant trainer. The Report finds that the assistant trainer
repeatedly was the object of racial slurs and other racially derogatory language; that the other offensive lineman
was subjected to homophobic name-calling and improper physical touching; and that Martin was taunted on a
persistent basis with sexually explicit remarks about his sister and his mother and at times ridiculed with racial
insults and other offensive comments.”

“The Report rejects any suggestion that Martin manufactured claims of abuse after the fact to cover up an
impetuous decision to leave the team. Contemporaneous text messages that Martin sent to his parents and others
months before he left the Dolphins—which have never before been made public—corroborate his account that the
persistent harassment by his teammates caused him significant emotional distress. The Report concludes that the
harassment by Martin’s teammates was a contributing factor in his decision to leave the team, but also finds that
Martin’s teammates did not intend to drive Martin from the team or cause him lasting emotional injury,” said Mr.
Wells.

I don't know the legalese, but I wonder if NFL players are considered "co-workers" that work in (for lack of a better term) an 'office' ... if not, what are they considered, because otherwise there's no end to the theoretical lawsuits that could be brought about at this point, especially by some hanger on who figures he'll get more money via the court rather than on the field.

Regardless of what myself or other may or may not think about Jonathan Martin, this Richie Incognito fella has made a hugely triumphant return into the category of Chief Asswipe, not to mention the nutless little toadies John Jerry and Mike Pouncey ... I mean, if you have to wait for a signal from someone else to have the "courage" to make fun of someone else, that's awfully special.

We found that the Assistant Trainer, who was born in Japan, was the target of frequent and persistent harassment, including insults relating to his race and national origin. Incognito, Jerry and Pouncey admitted that they directed racially derogatory words toward him, including “Jap” and “Chinaman.” At times, according to Martin, they referred to the Assistant Trainer as a “dirty communist” or a “North Korean,” made demands such as “give me some water you fucking chink,” spoke to him in a phony, mocking Asian accent, including asking for “rubby rubby sucky sucky,” and called his mother a “rub and tug masseuse.”
