I was going to give Hub and his new venture my business.

That's $3 for a biweekly magazine. That's not unreasonable if the content and presentation are any good, though the horrible design work on the website is a reason to be skeptical of the latter. What do those draftnik magazines usually go for at a Walgreens newsstand? Usually at least $4, right?

Why are the C and H and L and L kerned so tight as to be fake ligatures? Why are there six stars inside the LL ligature? Why is Hub gazing to his right while pretending to toss a football that might be out of proportion to his hand?

In this marketplace, I don’t see how you can make it as a magazine.

So, he seems to have put Pro Football Weekly in bankruptcy to lose the $8.5 million in debt and then recreated a very similar product.

I wouldn't be too happy if I was one of those guys on the hook for the $8.5 million.

Not the first time he has done this. Seacrest already went to the mat to defend this guy for making the effort and I am all for giving someone credit for going for any business venture on their own, nothing is tougher, but Hub took over an existing business and ran it into the ground a few times, with numerous investors giving him money a number of times until the debt just got too big.

Such choices as "not going to the internet" until like 2013, might not have been such a great business move.

Some think Hub is a good reporter, writer, commentator, etc and maybe he is if you like him, but you would think at this point he has learned he is a bad businessman and he cant do both.

I met Hub at a fundraiser years ago, and he said their 1-800-FOOTBALL phone number (which the company had acquired decades earlier) was worth $50k. I assumed he would have had to relinquish it during the bankruptcy, but I just called the number to check it out and it's disconnected. I would think someone would find value in that number.
