The Falcons will be featured on @HBO's Hard Knocks during camp this summer. #RiseUp

What an uninspired choice. Gooddell is an asshole in every aspect of his job. Just force a team the fans want.

My first reaction is indifference.

My second reaction is that I'll still be really excited for them.

The fact that the Bears aren't the choice this year is sad.

Yea, I still can't wait to watch.

The Bears or Steelers would've been blockbuster. Next year they should still be eligible though.

Hopefully.

I can't say "Atlanta Falcons" without doing the cover-your-mouth-to-be-syndication-overdub-friendly gag from The Simpsons.

And yeah, to your point, the --ATLANTAFALCONS-- are soft-serve vanilla ice cream on a slice of white bread. But we can't have the Bears on a show like this because people might steal Marc Trestman's brilliant ideas and the McClaskeys might have to admit that running a football team is actually and necessarily kind of vulgar.

Extremely bland choice. The bears would have been ratings gold for this year's show.

Did the Bears really want to do this? I know the Packers do not want to be a part of this.

No, they didn't, because the Chicago Bears are allergic to effective marketing. But who needs it when you can just bleat "1985" over and over?

Dammit I really wanted to hear Martellus Bennett . He's very funny and needs more exposure to say , you know, funny things.

Someone should give him a radio show to say whatever he wants. Maybe he'll even say he's afraid of ghosts.

It's a treat listening 45 minutes of Trestman's nonsense business jargon press conferences. Weekly summaries of Trestman interacting with humans over two months would be outstanding. Then you got the nutless QB acting as a real life Ken Doll for her airhead dominatrix wife.

Bump.

The previous boring teams there were at least characters like Ocho Cinco and dysfunction of Ireland/Philbin on the Dolphins and general weirdness of the Bengals.

There is literally nothing interesting about the Falcons and somehow this will be the best show on TV until the regular season starts.

Thanks. I'll check it out. Would have been great to get an inside look at the Bears, especially after the
dustup yesterday but how far has a Hard Knocks team gotten the season they were profiled? I don't
remember if any have made a run at the Lombardi trophy. I still remember one of the first seasons with
the Ravens and Todd Heap. He had a really hot wife.

I suppose following the Falcon LB that was wrongly in prison for rape might be a little bit interesting?

Theo and Jed should've known Hard Knocks was debuting tonight and delayed the call-up for Baez for tomorrow.

Anyone got a link? Usually the first episode is on the HBO website, but I do not see it. And of course, all of the youtube crap is fake.

Thanks Kirkwood I was just about to post it, as I found it. I love that they calls it Large Socks to try to avoid it being deleted.

Agree, but you will still watch, just might not be a highlight that we care about. Still cool seeing the meetings, terms, etc.

Imagine if the Bears had a great owner!

watching and listening to mike tice actually angered me last night.... i can't believe that idiot was put in charge of running an offense in chicago... also byran cox has not aged well

also, harry douglass' beauty queen wife is ridiculously hot, was the star of the first episode

They already took the Large Socks link down.

1st episode was boring, but it could get better.

I'm always interested in how the coaches interact with their players. This Falcons coach is uneasy around them. Doesn't have an authoritative presence. I'm talking about when he's one on one with a player. In the meetings, when he's barking at all of them, it's easier to come across tough and authoritative.

Like the Dolphin coach a few years ago, this Falcons coach is weak. Players will sense that and walk all over him.

Then again, with the cameras on them, I know they're not really being themselves. Still, you can tell this guy doesn't command the room like some NFL coaches.
