Did anyone else just see the Texans block a Redskins PAT? I can't believe that happened!

To be fair to 312, he has probably been heroically knocking women out who were spitting on him since Sunday afternoon so he's still catching up.

I'm a Lovie fan, but so far Trestman is just a mirror image of his predecessor. And as far as the other dynamics at play, then AND THE PUNT IS BLOCKED!

Not sure about this. Trestman had a lot to prove still to even be in the same conversation as Lovie.

Lovie is a one side of the ball coach who had success as a Head Coach

Trestman is a one side of the ball coach

We'll see

Lovie had some idea on offense. He just didn't have the talent. Lovie also seemed to have a good knowledge of special teams.

Trestman seems to have 0 knowledge of defense and very little in special teams.

Don't forget Trestman's side of the ball is much larger. Lovie never grew his football.

Sure, but up until now Trestman has basically improved one side of the ball while completely destroying the other side. As Rick and others mentioned, special teams has also taken a hit.

Trestman can surpass Lovie if he is able to recognize the atrociousness of the two units outside of offense (Lovie was never able to fix his offense's atrociousness), and either directly resolve gaping holes or hire better coaches to resolve those problems.

Trestman can surpass Lovie if he makes it to multiple Super Bowls or wins one.

I will wait to pass judgement until Chus can tell me if the recent (18 years, http://dailycaller.com/2014/09/08/repor ... 15-months/) pause in global warming affects outdoor games going forward.

Isn't there a history of "successful" NFL coaches being relative failures at their next stop? Ditka, Parcells, Shanahan.

Whereas the successful retreads were failures at their previous NFL head coaching positions: Belichick and Carroll.

where was parcells a failure? he got the patriots to a superbowl, the jets and the cowboys to the playoffs when they were failures before he got there.

Shanahan was both if you consider his initial failure with the Raiders.
