Skins cough up a fumble early. Cousins looks really good on an 80 yd TD drive. Neither defense doing much to get off the field so far.

That was sorta a bullshit call on the defenseless receiver flag. Look at the replay. Both Giants players ease up and do not launch themselves into Paul, he just happened to lower his head into them and knocked himself out.

I don't know where I heard it but someone on the radio made an interesting point. The level of play in a lot of games this year has been pretty poor. Look no further than the Bears games vs. San Francisco and the Jets for this. The person was speculating that the first 3-4 weeks of the NFL season are now the new preseason because of all the rules on hitting and contact in practice and how the starters still don't play very much in the preseason outside of the third game.

The Thursday night games do seem to be of less quality though.

it's a true criticism that they're not giving enough time between games and guys are probably either taking it down a notch or getting injured easier. to want to expand the season and have even tuesday night football is more reason why goodell is going to make this league implode rather than the bullshit domestic dispute stuff.

Niners Defense was great today. They'll be fine when they get everyone back. Vernon might not be back for a while though.
