I don't think you are far off with this, the machine is leaking a little oil.

Very well maybe right. With Brady and Manning at the end of their careers. I don't think we realize just how lucky we have been in the last 10-15 years to see 2 of the greatest QBs of all time.

I don't think the NFL could go any higher since foreign markets do not seem to care for the game. With the slow pace of the games and constant penalties for things that used to be legal, it does seem like this is the peak. Eventually, we'll all have fantasy football burnout, and then it will be a slow bleed.

Wilson and Rodgers are pretty entertaining to watch.....Manning is simply amazing. He took what Marino was and brought it to new heights. His control of the game with such limited mobility is simply amazing. He is QB perfection.

hear hear! here's a man who speaks my language and is what stephen colbert would call an "it-getter" because, indeed, there was only one day holy enough in the history of the beloved to exist on permanently-hallowed-grounds and that was 46-10, my friend.

also, i'm missing the point of this thread insomuchas [what?] is the aphex of the NFL... or lol apex. that isn't even so much as a "subliminable" freudian as much as it is force of habit of using the 4 letters of apex in a 5 letter word that is very relevant to my interests.

i'm guessing it has something to do with the manning brothers and tom brady all being in their primes.... you get record-setting QB clinics from peyton over @ franchise #2 (and even if they get BTFO in the super bowl you still gotta give elway his props for seeing a chance to get PEYTON FREAKING MANNING over TIM FUCKING TEBOW (which in and of itself sounds iike a viral video sensation in the mindset of 2 girls 1 cup)

and then beyond the big-name bellcows (and why am i suddenly hungry for papa john's pizza to the point where in wanna jump in my buick (insured by nationwide) ??) you've got a league where joe flacco has won a super bowl a couple'a years ago out of the blue, last year seattle rose up and did it a little bit differently and literally decimated the legendary HOF-bound QB and his wacky pals (#RememberEricDecker) and hey even our beloved bears can look at that ravens run a couple'a years ago and say "if we keep jay on the field and merely get invited to the dance(playoffs) jay could have one of those 5 game hotstreaks and we win us a supr bowel!"

and uhhhh yeah am i wrong for assuming it's about parity, star quality, high ratings, and all that stuff when we talk apex of the NFL.... or is it something else that i'm missing out on?

Even when Manning, Brady and a couple of the lesser QB's leave won't the media hype the next GOAT?

by the way, the NBA is still in good shape, it just isn't at the heights of awareness that it had from Bird-Magic through the Jordan eras.

Domestically probably; world-wide, I would politely disagree.

I think mike and mike was talking about this the other day. The interest in high scoring might run it's course in the near future. 40 something to 40 something games kinda just comes down to who has the ball last, the games that are 40 to 10 are clunkers to watch, and the defensive product is sloppy. Poor tackling, poor technique etc is part of what makes football exciting. I never thought of it like that but it makes some sense.

You can't hit anymore in practice, this is the game you will get.

Without a doubt it does, and that is all levels of football.

I know for a fact that children at the entry level of the game are being dissuaded from playing. This will not only hurt the product ten years from now but it will also decrease interest.
