So, for those not watching, the game just ended in OT, 38-35 San Diego.

My question isn't about the game.

As whosits is talking to Phillip Rivers postgame on the field, I hear "Lights" by Journey playing.

My question is ... why that song then and there?

A song originally written about LA, changed to San Francisco, being played after a victory by a team from San Diego (albeit they just beat a team from San Fran) ... I don't get it. Is that a normal song to play for them postgame? Is it just to dick with the 49ers? Is it because they think it's trendy? Random choice? WHY DAMMIT?!?

I think because a night game in "SF" is ending.
A SF band............"When the lights....go down...."

(a) seems strange to play that after a loss.
(b) I wasn't watching the game ... I thought it was in San Diego.
(c) everybody gets an ike-like thread from time to time ... this one is mine.

a - Journey's music is always strange
b - now it makes more sense
c - not enough random capitalizations, drug references, or similarities to a beardown post.
