Just passed at the NFL meetings. 2 point conversions are still from the 2 yard line. Defenses are now allowed to return these conversions for 2 points. My first thought is this is really gonna effect point spreads and totals. |

No more taking a piss or grabbing a beer after TDs. Gotta now watch cuz it's not a gimme. |

It's really gonna matter come late Novermber in bad weather cities. They'll just go for 2 if it's real windy or the field is mud. Especially at our shitty Soldier Field. Unless 1 point can tie it at the end. Then it's a tough decision. |

kickers about to get a raise then... pretty big change to the game. also another step that makes historic totals meaningless. |

Most kickers are good from 32 if it's good weather. It will be expected that they make them. Even the bottom half kickers. The great kickers have the great percentages from like 45 and out. It just changes the coaches philosophy in bad weather. |

And before anyone goes too crazy, please remember that you don't look at 32 yard FG conversion rates to predict what the average XP rate will be. The XPs are all kicked from the center of the field, where the FGs can be anywhere between the hashes. The conversion percentages go dramatically up when you're positioned in the center... close to 97.5% per my sources. |

Who will be the first team that just goes for 2 every time? Also, there will now be specialized units that are just installed for the 2 point conversions. Still not sure I like it. |

The defense should get 2 points on an extra point TO & 3 if they return it for a TD. |

i like the changes, i think we are still looking at well over 90% accuracy for a 32 yard XP. But a game tying XP try late in a game will definitely be more exciting now |

They are trying to balance the overall odds while at the same time create more potential excitement on each individual event (i.e., keeping the mean the same but increasing the standard deviation.) Pushing the PAT back too far would force teams to almost always go for 2. Some people might prefer that, but part of the overall NFL "entertainment package" is drumming up controversy, including water cooler debates over coaching decisions. |

1% may be more than it seems though. the first time someone misses they arent going to care about the statistics |
