Quote: D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the team is set to add former Chicago Bears GM Phil Emery to the scouting and personnel department Good luck with that. |

Big red flag with Shea, but Alshon and Long were good picks. Traded for Bennett and Marshall as well. Sucked as a GM though. |

I think it's fair to fire Emery for the Trestman hire, but outside of that I don't know that he really got a fair shot. He was here for only two years right? |

The Bears voluntarily restricted their GM search by insisting candidates would have to keep Lovie for another year. |

Emery is a decent scout, just made a terrible GM. Let me suggest that at the NFL level, you hire guys who have proven they do a very good job at the job you want them to do. Let someone else train them |

But his first major decision pretty much set the Bears back by 2-3 years. Firstly it was debatable whether or not to fire Lovie after going 10-6, then he takes a risk by hiring Trestman after botching negotiations with his first choice (Arians). So Trestman then presides over the worst defensive performance in recent memory, failed to earn the respect of the locker room, and basically turned the Bears into the laughingstock of the league. It'd be different if Trestman turned out to be mediocre or something, but he absolutely sucked. Emery had to be held accountable. |

Not having a good thread after being rightfully bitch slapped by KD on Emery's draft picks and then caught not reading by FF. All I need to do now is admit I backed the Trestman hire and I'll probably be banned. |

Lamarr Houston was a bad signing. His drafts were all terrible. Sure he occasionally hit in the draft but for every Kyle Long there's 5 more Ego Fergusons. |

His worst move wasn't even Trestman. It was giving Cuter that big extension rather than using the Franchise tag. That set the 'rebuild' back even further. New Coach new quarterback and were talking SUPER BEARS SUPER BOWL in 2017. Now this team will be lucky to even make the playoffs the next few seasons. |

Let someone else train them He scouted Kyle Fuller, a waste of a 1st round pick. He was a 3rd rounder at best. How hard is it to scout guards, when Long was another mispick in the 1st? And why did he scout Shea McClellin for a position that didn't exist in his defense?? |
