In two year Kobe is due 30 million dollars. Also in two years the Luxury tax damages hit their peak.

At this point, it seems silly to think that Kobe will retire as anything other than a Laker and that his number will be hoisted to the rafters very shortly after. I suppose they could work out some amnesty deal if he was able to take less in a given year and they add diplomatic pay after he retires.

Jim Buss would kill his father by doing something stupid like that. I still would love to see him in a Bulls uniform even though he's 80% of the player he once was.

I don;t think it would happen this offseason, but I would not put it past Jim Buss to do this before the 13-14 season.
