Houston Rockets are finalizing a deal to make Mike D'Antoni their coach according to a source. Rockets have interviewed 12 candidates for the position and are the last NBA team without a coach.

Daryl Morey sought out and found his analytical soul mate in D'Antoni. Expect this one to end terribly for the Rockets. Both will be fired within two years.

Would you rather have D'Antoni or Hoiberg?

A few years ago he was an overrated coach with a genius complex. Another guy who thinks his system is the key to winning. He is not even overrated anymore. Just another retread.

The NBA coaching selections always amaze me.

Before long people will be saying that Kidd is better than Thibs...

Thibs struck gold. 50M contract, full control, young roster.

Think about that: 50M for a guy a few years ago was just a defensive coach next to Doc Rivers.

Oh I know, I was being sarcastic.

I went around with someone here awhile back on Kidd/Thibs.

I still think anyone who thinks Kidd is a better coach than Thibs is crazy

We will really get an opportunity to see just how great Thibs is this season, won't we.

You have to think Minnesota will be at least an 8 seed in the playoffs next year.

They overachieved his first season and underachied last season Kidd also missed a number of games last season.

He out coached Thibs in that playoff series. No doubt about it.

They don't make the playoffs next season. 35 win team tops.

6 game series against a team that should have been swept. One of the Bulls wins was in overtime too. The Bucks improved by 13 games in Kidd's first season and they traded the guy Brandon Knight who was their best player that season.

We will see what he does this season. I'm glad that he has a job and has total control. Won't be any excuses now. He also has talent to work with.

And they regressed this year. I am sure you will explain that away apart from Kidd, but the record remains. The East was/is brutal and they could not even come close to the playoffs this year.

He is a below .500 coach.

Thibs impact on the Bulls is even more clear now that he is gone.

He will do very well in Minnesota and will continue to be a much better coach than Kidd.

The East has gotten better. 8th place team in the East has a better record than the 8th place team in the West. We will see how great a coach he is now. The Bulls stuff is over. Don't really want to fight that fight anymore. He has a team and control let's see what he does. If he wins 20 games his supporters are still going to find a way to spin it anyway.
