Where are the elite NBA watchers on this site to talk about a big occurance just over a week away?

I'm kinda scared to talk drafts with board members after the events at my last draft party.

My advice is to ignore it. There isn't much there.

Cleveland will improve from bad, and there will be some solid starters but it lacks star power.

Did you have to be racist on the internet to impress them?

FarveFan is going to have some contrarian thought about how he thinks that neither Kyrie Irving nor Derrick Williams will pan out in the NBA, and then Kid Cairo is going to agree, and then Keeping Score (as Carrie) is going to declare that whoever the Bucks (SOLID!) pick is going to be the Rookie of The Year!

The Sock Room Incident happened after a Draft Party.

You think all I do is agree with Farvio? We've disagreed plenty of times. I just don't debate as fiercely as some others.

Truth be told, I don't know enough about these guys to have a real comment on the draft. I don't watch much college ball.

I think Irving will be good but not great. Derrick Williams is probably the best talent. I'm looking forward to spmack's analysis of the draft instead of the board members

See, that would be a first: A cogent, well thought-out sports thought from Kamps. I'm not sure he's capable.

It seems hard to believe, but the NBA Draft is next Thursday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. It's supposed to be a weak college draft on the whole, but one of the storylines surrounds BYU's Jimmer Fredette. I don't think he's going to be much of an NBA player, but will Fredette stay in Utah and be one of the Jazz's two first round draft picks? He had a workout with the Jazz yesterday, but head coach Tyrone Corbin wouldn't tip his hand when he joined Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix this morning on "The Dan Patrick Show".

To make things interesting, we should set up some gambling lines on the over/unders of foreign players drafted. I will say 5 1/2.

I don't know why any team wouldn't take a foreigner in the 2nd round where you can stash them for 3 years and not pay them where they get an Asik like sheen by playing overseas.

It's my understanding that the upcoming NBA Draft is filled with such Euro-ballplayers, and one of these players is actually supposed to play next season in the NBA, pending the lockout, after being drafted #3 by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2009 Draft. That player...Ricky Rubio.

I will make both of you hold hands on Halsted and Belmont.

Well your last guy will be better than Wall, and Morris is good I guess. It's always sunny in Philadelphia

If we get too buddy-buddy just bring up Spurs vs Mavs. There's a 4-1 chance we'll start to argue

The two notable names at the top of most NBA Draft boards are Duke's Kyrie Irving & Arizona's Derrick Williams, but if anyone's looking for a potential franchise savior, you are probably out of luck. The Cavaliers have 2 of the top 4 picks, and not everyone is sold on Irving as the #1 pick.

It's probably going to be a tougher watch if there's even less of a possibilty of significant trades happening due to the uncertainty of the CBA.

BD, I don't think there will be any Draft Day/Night trades due to the "l" word, as in lockout. You know the folks on ESPNHD's live coverage will be talking a great deal of that next Thursday come 6p.

I wouldn't say "any", but teams will have to be extra cautious before they take on a long-term deal.

That was a Rick joke. Although turner slightly redeemed himself towards the end, it's completely obvious John wall is a much more talented NBA player. Hopefully he doesn't go the route of agent zero or Stevie franchise

I never said that Wall wasn't more talented. I think that Turner will be a better pro. It's more of a bet against Wall as I know that Turner's ceiling is limited.

It will be nice to judge Turner when he actually gets playing time.

Turner has gotten playing time. That's why your thread doesn't look as bad as it did 6 months ago. It was clear he belonged after this postseason IMO.

I just see the talent gap as big enough where Wall can coast and still have a better career, as long as he doesn't go batshit crazy like Marbury, arenas, etc

Never heard of this guy . . .

From ESPN . . .

43. Chicago Bulls (via Utah)

E'Twaun Moore | SG | Purdue

The Bulls need both toughness and shooting in the backcourt, and Moore could deliver. He can play both backcourt positions and this season showed that when he gets hot, he can be a lights-out shooter.

I'd love it but he's got a long way to go to being a productive NBA player. As a second rounder he's a good pick though because he's got talent.
