This case though is just another idiotic poster having another idiotic moment.

Chandler's effective rate is .596, just a little better than Curry's. But he only scored 8 points per game. Curry has led the league in scoring at least once and he's averaged well over 20 a game for his career.

We already know Beard can't outshoot Jordan in the playoffs from the 3 point line. So, let's check out assists for shits and giggles. Harden goes from a 6.2 regular season to a 5.6 in the playoffs. Jordan has a 5.3 going to a 5.7.

So...NOPE

Of the top 20 3 point shooters in NBA history only 2 were elite scorers. 3 if you count Petrovic. There is very little correlation between being an elite scorer and an elite shooter.

Hold on here. Jordan had four years when he ackshually tried more than a couple three-pointers/game. in those years his 3P% was about .375. That's the same as Harden. When Jordan's only 3PA were heaving 50 footers at the end of quarters, etc. the % went way down.

We need to compare apples to apples. Through 8 years Jordan's eFG% is exactly the same as Harden's, yet he averaged 8 points more! In an era when teams scored 15ppg less on average and FG% was .05% less!

I don't believe that to be the case.

Here's why I don't argue about Jordan and/or "the GOAT". The Chicagoan/Bulls fan will beat me over the head with Jordan's numbers which are admittedly great and enough to put him ahead of any but others who are the most elite players in history. But when one cites the numbers of another ultra-elite player that may give him an edge over Jordan even just in a particular aspect of the game, the Chicagoan/Bulls fan immediately leaps to "yeah, but" and insisting Jordan was better at that too. It's absurd.

And for the record, I haven't said one negative thing about Jordan in this thread other than that he's a shitburger for holding grudges from high school even after being widely acclaimed as the GOAT and having enough money for his great great great great grandchildren to blow on hookers and cocaine.

This is false. Even the biggest Jordan fans know there have been better all around players. However when you go down the rabbit hole of "yeah, but rebounds!" You suddenly have Westbrook and others as better than him and of course that criteria becomes absurd.
