Which doesn't make sense either. They already supposedly traded that pick.

ESPN said he's going to Minnesota for the Euro.

Exactly, which is why none of this makes sense.

We call that the "reverse Jerry Angelo".

Check that: The deal for Norris Coles to Miami is with Minnesota, not Chicago.

Yeah I kind of felt bad as soon as I said it, but that was my base reaction to that awful joke. At least it was met by the awkward silence it rightly deserved.

Yeah, I've heard that before on this board.

Laurence Holmes seems to love this pick because of what Jimmy Butler did to Depaul. Everyone looks good against Depaul. :lol:

I think it was a mistake to not take a chance on Josh Selby.

KC Johnson tweeted that the funny thing about this whole deal is that the Bulls also liked Norris Cole, who is now on the Heat.

Here was his draft profile from NBA.com:

Strengths:

* Can score in variety of ways
* Gets to the free-throw line often
* Good facilitator
* Strong work ethic
* Takes pride in defense
* Good rebounder for his size

Weaknesses:

* Shooting has been inconsistent

Sounds like what the Bulls were looking for.

So the Bulls trade up to get a foreign player with great upside that won't be ready for a few years and their pick goes to Miami who choose a guy the Bulls liked and now the Bulls close out the 1st round by picking a forward who doesn't sound real impressive. And the Bulls are still looking for a scorer to help out next year. Interesting.

Dont know a lot about Jimmy Butler but what I've read has been so/so.

@DraftExpress: Chicago drafted the 7th best player in the draft with #23. When will he come over? My guess – 2014

The GM is going to eat them like media room hot dogs.

For the record, Demetri McCamey will be a steal for whoever wants him.

I am surprised that no one took a chance on drafting him and instead just picked names out of Eastern European and African phone books and hoped for the best. McCamey's biggest issue is his head. Give him a chance and if he fails then release him for almost nothing.

Alright, so I really like the Jimmy Butler pick at 30. He is going to fit the team well.

Nikola Mirotic...why should I be excited for this guy in a few years? He is a SF that doesn't seem like he will be able to keep up with NBA forwards...I haven't seen him first hand...but he sounds like a prototype Europe to NBA bust.

Because Omer Asik is the bee's knees.

He (and Richmond) are for sure going to get invites to camp, no?

I'm gonna guess that Richmond will be in jail before the start of the next NBA season.

McCamey yes. Richmond will be lucky to get an invite and won't make an NBA roster. It's either the D League or Europe for him.

My guess is that McCamey and David Lighty are getting a lot of calls. They are in good positions. The Bulls would be smart to try and get one of them in camp.

The Bulls could replace the coveted John Lucas III spot with McCamey. Or the Pargo spot.

If the Bulls cut John Lucas III, i'm boycotting this season.

Here is something for a good laugh for you guys. On another board I just read a guy who said that Purdue's Johnson and Moore are going to be perfect replacements for Garnett and Allen in Boston.

Hopefully they draft Hummel next year and they can compete with Miami for best Big 3 in the league.

Sure it does. In a draft this bad, the LAST thing the Bulls needed was to come away with two guaranteed contracts. They did the best thing they could possibly do, drafted a guy with great talent who they can stash in Europe for a few years and not have to pay. The analyst claimed that this guy has top 5 talent, but went this low because of his contract. Getting top 5 talent at 23 sure sounds like a great move for a team that wasn't goint to find any immediate help in the 20s anyway.
