I'm not complaining since he's on my fantasy team. I just find it funny. Then again I never liked Lawrence Frank that much as a coach. He still is the coach there, right? I actually dont know, that's kinda embarrassing.

To be fair, they are missing 2 of their 3 best players (C. Lee and Devin Harris). Not saying they'd be mopping the floor with the Lakers with those 2, but they might have at least won a game.

kind of a sloppy game...81-80 Hawks under a minute to go. Steve Blake has missed 2 wide open 3's on the last 2 posessions. Oden at the line....

yeah it was pretty nice. joe shot horrible...like i said the game was sloppy through 3, Hawks missed a TON of chances to get back in the game, they were down 10 or so for most of the 3rd quarter and Portland kept giving them chances to get back in it. Roy and Joe both made pretty big shots at the end of regulation...but Oden (who otherwise looked pretty good) missed 2 FT with under a minute which was key, Hawks were up by 1 then they stretched it to 3 before Rudy hit that 3.

the thing i was very impressed with was that the Hawks were out hustling and outrebounding a much taller frontline (Oden, Aldridge, Pryzbilla).

although Rudy hit a pretty lucky 3 to send it to OT, the Hawks really stole this one they didn't play well or shoot well at all

i dont mean this as a slight at the hawks or their fans but i think it's kinda ironic that in the late 80's, 90's, and 00's the hawks put together some talented, interesting teams that just seem to lack that true alpha dog to put them over the top

You wouldn't call Dominque Wilkins a "True Alpha Dog"? During his prime he was easily one of the top 5 guys in the league.

yeah but only a few can make it there and he was just a victim of being in the league during the Pistons, Lakers & Celtics heyday and then later the Bulls....should Drexler, Barkley and Malone be punished as well? They were all great players who just couldn't get past Jordan.

if you put nique on those celtics teams instead of bird they're still winning all those titles

Not sure what else Joe Johnson has to do either to be called the "alpha dog"...I mean yeah they haven't won anything other than 1st round playoff series so based on that case closed. But anyone who has watched a Hawks game knows he's a true go-to guy. any of you watch that Celtics series?

 i watched game 1 at your place. Like i said i liked the hawks and their players. I'm not trying to insult them. But you kinda need a kobe, jordan, duncan, magic, bird, etc. And they dont have that. I like joe and think he's a great player, but he's not quite good enough to get them over that hump. Also if nique replaces bird on that 84 team they dont beat the lakers

Now THAT, I agree with. Nique was a more athletic Jerome Kersey with a better jumpshot. That's not a knock on Nique either because Jerome Kersey was a damn good player.

I was a big Jerome Kersey guy. Please stop comparing him to players that were light years better.

He was the Clarence Weatherspoon of his time.

Nique was on a HOLE NUVVA LEVUL

Clarence Weatherspoon? 'Spoon had a good jumper. That's it. That's all. That was his game...camp out behind the stripe and let it fly.

 I didn't say Kersey was better. I'm just saying Nique was a better version of the same player. If anything, I guess I'm saying Kersey was underrated.
