Cant put awful coach hire on Mitch k, that was all j.b.

Nash was a dumb move n his fault, hiring Mike brown was dumb n on him too. Mitch wanted Phil, Howard never intended to stay, the bulls should absolutely pursue him.

As for Dwight Howard & the Bulls...What part of NO didn't you understand? The guy didn't want to play here, even if the Bulls offered everyone but Benny the Bull to Orlando!

My comment was more about the Lakers' roster. I do think a core of Gasol-Bryant-Howard is promising, I just don't think they had enough athleticism on the bench. World Peace and Jamison are also on the wrong side of 30. Nash is done but it's not like they brought him in to be mid-2000s Steve Nash. That would be a mistake.

I do not think acquiring a 27 year old center who can average 20-12-2 is a mistake. It didn't help that he was coming off a major injury as well. Aside from failing to add some athleticism to the roster, the biggest mistake--by far--was hiring D'Antoni.

The silver lining was Andrew Bynum being off the team. However, even if Kobe plays a season or two more the Lakers would have to win immediately and there's not enough on their team currently to compete with the Spurs or Thunder.

Don't you think the Lakers GM has made a lot of mistakes recently? Dwight Howard is a good player, but he's not like Shaq was in his prime. No one could guard Shaq and he would just dominate everyone. Even if Howard and Kobe come back I still don't think they will win 10 more games than this season.

What roster mistakes have they made? Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA when healthy, and he's only 27 years old. That's a move the Bulls can only dream of making. They'd rather bring in Jermaine O'neal or some other early 2000s has-been who can teach everyone else how to play hard and hustle.

They hired the wrong HC in Mike D'Antoni. They acquired Steve Nash, whose best days are in the scrapbook, and Father time is catching up with Kobe Bryant. Pau Gasol will be dealt this summer.

I am not trying to completely equate the two but how old was Shaq when the Lakers got him? I see to recall in his early days a goofy sometimes punky sometimes lazy Shaq in Orlando. He seemed to mature later on, 27?

Shaq was 24 when he signed with L.A. He was 28 when they won their first title.

My optimism regarding Howard assumes he can regain his previous form. Even given that assumption, however, I don't think he can be the best player on a championship team. His game is still too limited offensively, which may be attributed to all the whispers we've heard about his lack of self-improvement during the summers.

D'antoni finally puts the Lakers in the best position to succeed...by resigning.

I dont know why suddenly Kerr is a promising HC candidate - I dont get it. But it seems since NY wants him I'm sure LA will chase him to and might have a legit shot.

I think Lionel Hollins is a good coach I just dont know enough about his style to know if it fits with what LAL would need.

Kerr is a California kid (Palisades) and the Airzona connection of his fmaily moving there when he went to School at U of A. I don't see Kerr leaving the coast, or else he would have by now and asked for a boat load of money.
