I think every player may be in attendance, very crowded room. About to start any second now.

No deal.

They're going to head towards decertification.

Yes, unless the owners back off on some of the system issues, which is not going to happen.

The Players have already lost. They needed to realize it and cut their losses.

This is just dumb.

One of the happiest people right now has to be Jordan. He will lose less money not having a season, and will probably end up with an even better deal now. Just a really dumb move by the players. Why didn't they try to do this in July?

It means the NBA's broadcast partners better have alternate programming planned. That may explain why you're likely going to see more college basketball than ever before on ESPN, complete with NBA voices Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy & Mike Tirico among the voices calling college games on their family of networks. TNT can rerun quite a few "Law & Order" episodes on Thursday night, while NBA TV continues to air "Hardwood Classics" & basketball-themed movies for the forseeable future. As for ABC, they better have something other than Heat/Mavericks & Bulls/Lakers planned on Christmas Day...

In plain English, there are NO WINNERS!

Me thinks Air Jordan shoes will not be a big sell among NBA players in upcoming years.

Bagels, I don't know about you, but those networks spend a lot of $$$$ to broadcast NBA basketball. This hurts them as much as it does fans, ticket agents, souvenir shops, vendors, security, etc. who work in NBA arenas.

Well Stern will have to cancel more games at least now, I just wonder how many next, a month to maybe try and save everything.

Ric Bucher on ESPN, was saying for them taking 45 days to officially decertify, something could happen.

They've already aired both of those a bunch of times, along with Space Jam and Hoosiers also.

Say they don't have a season. What happens to everyone's contract? Is it as if the year didn't exist or do they burn a year off the contract?

I wish this could have happened during a year in which the Bulls sucked. We going to miss a season with D Rose that could have been really special.

I've got a feeling this NBA labor dispute is headed for court, and who knows how long it'll take, Reents.

I have felt, contrary to what I've heard from the Chris Mannixs, the Adrian Wojnarowskis, the Chris Broussards and the Ric Buchers of the world who have been in the closed door sessions for hours & hours the last couple of weeks that the players & owners haven't been nearly as close to a new CBA as what's been reported.

What has happened moments ago doesn't surprise me one bit. It absolutely sucks what's NOT going on with the NBA. You may not miss the NBA now, but once NFL season winds down, especially around these parts where not much is expected from any of our local college hoops teams again, you will miss the Association come late January and early February.

The NFL season goes so deep in February now that a mere week after the Super Bowl pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training. Speed weeks in Daytona will be in full swing. March Madness will be right around the corner. The transition will be more seamless than you may think.
