They could include it in any deal to take back a bigger contract. The trade exception is for $5M but they could take back a little more than $6M if they used it by itself. Throw in a $14M contract like Deng's and it basically means the Bulls could take back about $25M in contracts. It gives them a lot of flexibility.

When making a trade a team over the cap can take back 125% of the salary + $100k.

I like Batum a lot but Portland is just hurting their franchise by not make a deal like this. Williams is going to be a stud and they would save money.

that's what happens when you fire him every time you get a good GM. Portland is stupid.

He'll be 40 by the time the season starts.

He has missed about 4-5 years due to injury over his career, so that's alot of miles he never put on those knees. He can still play even at that age.
