Ric Bucher on ESPN, was saying for them taking 45 days to officially decertify, something could happen.

I've got a feeling this NBA labor dispute is headed for court, and who knows how long it'll take, Reents.

I have felt, contrary to what I've heard from the Chris Mannixs, the Adrian Wojnarowskis, the Chris Broussards and the Ric Buchers of the world who have been in the closed door sessions for hours & hours the last couple of weeks that the players & owners haven't been nearly as close to a new CBA as what's been reported.

What has happened moments ago doesn't surprise me one bit. It absolutely sucks what's NOT going on with the NBA. You may not miss the NBA now, but once NFL season winds down, especially around these parts where not much is expected from any of our local college hoops teams again, you will miss the Association come late January and early February.

The NFL season goes so deep in February now that a mere week after the Super Bowl pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training. Speed weeks in Daytona will be in full swing. March Madness will be right around the corner. The transition will be more seamless than you may think.

I'd like to think so, UMN. The NBA is risking permanent damage much like the NHL did about 8 years ago when they lost an entire season due to a similar lockout. Even though the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup 2 years ago, the NHL hasn't fully recovered and guess what? The NHL's own CBA expires after this season and new NHLPA Executive Director Don Fehr is no stranger to labor disputes.

Just destroying Jeffrey Kessler, saying he tried the same useless strategy for the NFLPA.

I will agree with Urlacher's missing Neck, that there will be so much more sports going on that people may not care about the NBA, but will say there is a couple of times when people will miss the NBA, Christmas Day and also when the NFL gets to playoffs and just a couple of games on the weekend and College Football is done, you will just have College Basketball and like put before the NHL.

There will be plenty of pro football on Christmas Day to keep you occupied.

They are playing the NFL games on Christmas EVE, now Bears-Packers is on Christmas Day.

Do the owners have to honor contracts?

I was WRONG about the players. This absolutely sucks. As RFDC said, typical that this would happen coming off a year when the Bulls had the leagues best record.

Ikesouth, just heard Chris Broussard say pretty much the same thing, that if the players do that, Stern should just cancel the season that day, because it will take time in the courts.

The players are stupid, but this seems to be on the owners. They should have just accepted 50/50 and let a few teams overspend easier.

I do. I've grown sick of the good job he's done this year. And Rick I agree the players are stupid, but the owners are also and clearly guessed wrong about the players caving. Everyone's an asshole in this situation. Except Scalabrine.

The owners didn't guess wrong. They honestly seem fine with canceling the season. That's why it's on the owners though.
