Detroit was bound to start off fast. Boston just needs to survive this 1st quarter, and chip away after that. Just give themselves a chance to steal this game in the 4th quarter.

I really like Billups, I think he's a top 5 Point Guard when healthy, but hes hurting them right now. As well as Stuckey has been playing, you gotta give him more minutes as long as the hamstring isnt 100%.

Agreed. As much as it sucks for Detroit to not have Billups on the floor, they really need to at least pick their spots for him, and give him plenty of rest.

I gotta agree with Jackson and Van Gundy, there is no way Ratliff should be getting any kind of serious minutes with as well as Maxiell and McDyess have been playing.

Watching the Doc vs. Flip coaching matchup is sad when you can flip on the other series and see a Pops and Phil matchup. The gap between the two is ridiculous.

Agreed. Not sure what that was all about. If you needed fouls against a Shaq type inside force, fine, but they shouldn't need him in this series.

Im on record as saying I really enjoy this booth, but I cant believe Van Gundy just suggested that Prince would be a better post scoring option than Maxiell or McDyess. I can understand maybe the Maxiell angle but McDyess has played an excellent offensive game tonight, especially considering at the moment PJ Brown is guarding him.

I cant believe how petty some of these calls are. Did PJ Brown sleep with the ref's wife or something? That flagrant call was ridiculous, and Doc was right on the following play where PJ actually touched the alley oop first and they called another foul on him.

KG has hit two very deep ridiculous shots with 1 second left on the shot clock so far in the first half

It was nice of the NBA to allow Dwight Howard to suit up in place of Kendrick Perkins tonight.

Kendrick Perkins is awesome, he's easily gonna be a top 5 Center next season.

Yeah its been weak. Boston is way too inconsistent. The first 8 minutes of the 2nd half were basically flawless, but they have way too many holes in their team. Also Billups is clearly hurt and thats weakening Detroit.

This series seemed 10x more exciting back in January.

For one of the smartest players in the league, Sheed can be a pretty big dumbass sometimes.

Wallace can be a dominant player at times, but I can't stand hi attitude at the same time.

So let me get this straight. The refs don't want to decide the game on a clear foul, but they are willing to call a technical foul for complaining with under 3 minutes to go in a close game?

I have to say that these playoffs are not making me a bigger NBA fan and officiating has a lot to do with it.

The officiating has been inexcusable all postseason. The players arent the only reason why the home team wins almost every game.

OK quick question... When a team cant inbound the ball because of smothering defense within the 5 seconds, why do they call a TO every time instead of simply throwing it off the leg of the guy in front of them? I mean, I guess its a bit playground, but its within the rules and seemingly would work pretty easily. I never understood that.

In my opinion, with a player facing you with both of his hands ready, you only have about a 75% chance of it working. It's different when saving a ball out of bounds because the defender isn't as ready.

Now, given the fact that you never see it, I bet it would work well if you did it now.

Well the vast majority of the time they have their hands waving over their heads, so I dont see how it would be possibly for them to catch it. I guess if they had extremely quick reaction they could jump out of the way or move their foot, but I really think it would work. I wouldnt normally do it, but when down by 4 with 50 seconds left and only 1 TO, Im not burning the TO on that.

I think KG has been HUGE for Rondo and Perkins. They have definitely developed their games and their confidence from last season to that. Playing on a winning team is very overlooked on the development of players. Star players will be fine and make their teams better, but playing on a winning team vs. a doormat in your first few years could be the difference between being a role player and a borderline all star. I wonder what kind of player Tayshaun Prince would be if he had been on the Clippers the past 6 seasons.

Speaking of Prince, I think it was Van Gundy today who said in reference to possibly guarding Kobe, Pierce is the best defender left in the playoffs, and I think Marc Jackson, or possibly Breen said "Whoa!" Damn right, I couldnt believe that. I think Prince is the best, with Bowen being a close second. Pierce is good, but not that good. His footwork isnt quick enough to keep up with him.

I think Prince is a better overall defender than both of them. I was talking about guarding Kobe, but if we are talking in general then I would say Kobe is better than Bowen.
