FF I don't think you were around then. Most people didn't think he could be effective at the next level. My eye for talent told me that effort and some talent would make him a good NBA player.

Bagels I'm pretty sure you also laughed at me. WHO LAUGHING NOW?

I wouldn't call him "good", serviceable might be a better term to use. He will never be a starter on a good team, and is probably a 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench.

He was a monster the 2nd half of last season when he got the opportunity to start and he consistently looked better than Boozer in the series against the Pacers.

Very good? A monster? Whoa that thing Nas. He's a decent scorer, average rebounder, below average defender. Overall he's ok.

I give more credit to Frank Vogel.

Garnett is a fool. I'm pretty sure he said they shouldn't even back down from the 57% of revenue that they got in the last labor deal.

Tyler Hansbrough. He reminds me of a rec league player. On a real NBA contender he wouldn't see the court.

That's an exaggeration. He's not worse than a player like Francisco Oberto or Malik Rose. He's a solid 6th/7th guy on a good team. He's nowhere close to great though.

Agreed. He's not a starter on a contender, but he ain't Scalabrine either.

rec league player is hyperbole. But he isn't in Oberto's league, imo. Malik Rose, perhaps.

Congratulations cof. I think you're the first person in history to type this sentence.

It's more about how the Bulls aquired him than anything else. I wanted the Bulls to trade the pick or trade down and get Young or the kid out of UCLA. Then they praised him to the skies, overpayed him, etc.

Thaddius Young. The UCLA kid was Affalo. But I really wanted them to trade the pick, period.

I don't think Noah is overpaid or overloved. An agile 7 footer who is a great rebounder/defender/passer with a high basketball IQ and never takes a play off isn't easy to find. He's met/exceeded expectations so far. The fact that he occasionally strolls down State St at 2 am sippin on cognac and smokin J's just reenforces his awesomeness.

rebounder, defender, yes. Passer, not in my NBA world. And basketball IQ? The guy tried multiple times to dribble the length of the court against pressure. What does he do that Varejo couldn't do with more playing time?

How is he not a GREAT passer in your NBA world? He's fantastic at that for a center. And his defensive rotations and the fact that he's very rarely out of place on high picks and screen n rolls also shows his IQ. Varjeaou isn't nearly as good in the paint, he's not as good of a rebounder, and he's a below average passer.

Noah can also guard all 5 positions.

we'll agree to disagree. And what do you mean by "good in the paint" exactly? A post game? I think he'd put up good rebound numbers given enough PT (Anderson)

Anderson can't defend big, physical 4's or just big 5's. Noah is overall a better defender, but within six feet of the basket the difference is extremely noticeable. Noah's lower body strength is significantly higher and he doesn't get backed down off the dribble or pushed around for a loose ball like Varajeao does.
