Barnes has bust written all over him. Marvin Williams 2.0.

Marvin Williams didn't have a mid range jumper or average 17ppg for two years in college.

Marvin Williams only played one season at UNC and when you compare his freshman year to Barnes he was every bit as good and imo better. He was definitely a better shooter than Barnes so I don't know what you're talking about.

Williams frosh year stats:
2004-05 36 22.2mpg 11.3ppg 50.6fg% 43.2(3pt%) 84.7(ft%) 0.7apg 6.6rpg 0.5bpg 1.1spg

Barnes frosh year stats:
2010-11 37 29.4mpg 15.7ppg 42.fg% 34.4(3pt%) 75.4(ft%) 1.4apg 5.8rpg 0.4bpg 0.7spg

4 less ppg while playing 7 fewer minutes and shooting at a MUCH higher percentage. Better shooter from everywhere on the court including 3pt range. Better rebounder.

How is Barnes any better of a prospect?

He's 10x the shooter/scorer and overall player Marvin was. Most scouts think Barnes is the opposite of a bust. He's a really safe pick. He's gonna be Danny Granger. He just won't be a star.

See my above post, your comments about Barnes being "10x the better shooter" are worthy of the dumb sports thoughts thread.

All these guys being drafted were born around the time I was going into high school. I swear I'm not that old.

Marvin williams still doesn't have a mid range game, and he didn't avg 17ppg for 2 years against ACC comp.

You have to look at context shakes, unless you also think Marvin Williams was a better 3 point shooter than Ray Allen as a frosh in college. most NBA people disagree with you. Doesn't mean you couldn't end up being right, but it'd be a surprise. That's why it's annoying when people blindly quote stats. Barnes is a safe pick. You know what you're getting.

He was a better player than Barnes when comparing their freshman seasons. Not even really debatable.

Sure its debatable. Like it has been said before, Barnes is a safe pick. Williams was chosen more for his potential.

You don't think Zeller can be a top 30 center? C'mon.

Marshall is tougher to evaluate. I think he can be Andre Miller or a poor man's Marc Jackson. He's gonna need to get the right team, right coach, etc.

Did anyone just hear Van Gundy say, "His last name should be Meyers, and his first name should be Leonard."? Classic.

That's why I ask about Zeller. I think he'll be somewhere between 27-40 as far as centers go.

Marshall went to phoenix earlier.

I really, really hope Moultrie or Wroten Jr fall to us at 29. Those are top 15 talents IMO.

Good fit. Should be able to do a better Big Baby impersonation coming off the bench. Assuming his back is ok.

Yeah I think so. At the start of the college season this year he was projected as a top 5 pick. Glen went in the 2nd round right?

If this isn't the worst draft in the past 20 years its definitely in the conversation.

Stockpiling assets. Daryl Morey either wants Dwight Howard or wants to be unemployed by the end of the summer.
