Is she just some bimbo looking to get famous??

Hey he is a cock sucker but lots of luck forcing him to sell a profitable biz that might make the finals.

Pretty sure Sterling ain't going to care if blacks boycott the team. Kinda plays right into his hands doesn't it?

Bigfan, I woke up this morning thinking about Martin Luther King's dream. It's been nearly 51 years since Martin Luther King shared this majestic dream with the world. It was a dream of hope. It was a dream of unity. The powerful words expressed by the prophet Dr. King reflected the historical longings of those who for too long had been locked out. The dream lifted us from the stench of the blood of Medgar Evers to the sweet smell of optimism.

I thank the lord everyday for allowing me to be a part of an increasingly small group of witnesses who have been long-distance runners. We changed the South and the nation. Across these years, we’ve connected Mason and Dixon. We couldn’t have had the Bobcats in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Pelicans in New Orleans behind the cotton curtain.

Bigfan, I was blessed to be with Dr King, to watch and listen to him in the moment of ecstasy in 1963, but today I feel like I'm fighting a nightmare. From the recordings of a Los Angeles Bunny to the racism of Rancher Bundy, I was reminded that our dream is still under attack. I was deeply saddened and hurt by the divisive comments of Donald Sterling. Mr. Sterling does not have a sterling track record with people of color. I plan on sitting down and praying with the Sterling family in the coming days. Until then, we must move swiftly and boycott the Clippers organization, just as Dr King would. Pulling the money cord on the Clippers will show Donald Sterling that from Janitor Raul to Chris Paul we are our brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters. And we want to do unto them, as we would have them do unto us. It’s not merely the tone we seek to change, but direction and character of Donald Sterling and the Clippers organization.

John said it best on the Isle of Patmos in the pit - he saw a new heaven and a new earth. The old one passed away and he promised to wipe aware our tears.

I know it’s dark sometimes, but the morning cometh. Keep dreaming. Keep healing.

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will forgive their sins and heal their land. Keep hope alive.

IF one can find a way to take a moment to laugh about anything to do regarding that fuckhole, it was that Sterling is (well, certainly now re-conjugated to 'was') scheduled to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award on May 15th from the NAACP ...

http://www.naacp-losangeles.org/events.php

 ... I mean, you can't make this kind of shit up ... The Boondocks wouldn't even fathom writing something like this ...

(sadly, though, it really reflects very poorly on the NAACP for having anything to do with that fuckhole in the first place even aside from the current fiasco)

That's one of the details I'm hazy on. He definitely called for "breeding" Griner, though.

Doubt anything comes out of this, though I so wish it would. Sterling will try to discredit the source and the audio will lose weight as a result. He's said similar stuff before, though perhaps not as allegedly explicit, so that also is cause for pessimism, in my opinion.

I heard on the radio that he is already casting doubt on whether it's actually him saying those things, as in this girlfriend of his had a guy that sounds like him on the other end.

That's the thing about audio, I guess. It's easier to deny. I also read that the woman is involved in a lawsuit against him or something. What sucks is I think it's likely that he said that stuff, extremely likely that he believes that stuff, but inevitable that nothing substantive will happen.

Maybe it's just the way she talks, but she sounded like she was reading from a script. Awkward and stilted...Kerry Sayers & Matt Abbatacola levels of bad.

Sterling does have a history of racist behavior, but a lot of people have rushed to condemn him for this and it will be interesting to see what happens if it turns out to be a hoax. Why was it conveniently being recorded in the first place and then sent to TMZ?

CBS Los Angeles wrote:
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The wife of Clippers owner Donald Sterling filed a lawsuit Friday against a woman she alleged had a sexual affair with her husband.

The suit filed by Rochelle Sterling also alleged that the woman, identified in court documents only as V. Stiviano, was also given lavish gifts by Donald Sterling, including property and cash.

Rochelle Sterling accuses Stiviano as being the type of woman who “engages in conduct designed to target, befriend, seduce and then … receives as gifts transfers of wealth from older men whom she targets for such purposes.”

According to the suit, Stiviano has several aliases, including Vanessa Perez, Monica Gallegos and Maria Valdez.

Stiviano reportedly met Sterling at the Super Bowl game in February 2010 and that same year began a sexual relationship with him, the suit states.

The suit asks for a return of all cash, land, expensive cars and other items that under California law are the community property of the Sterlings.

I am also surprised that the NAACP would give him another award because he has donated a lot of money. It is very surprising that they would make a decision based on the color of his money instead of the content of his character.

I believe I heard the woman has more recordings. IMO the fact that he has only put out a sort of lawyer denial leads me to believe that it is true. I believe anyone who didn't say something like that would be more forceful in their denials.

And I am surprised Jessie hasn't asked for a specific amount yet.

Jessie is worse for the human race than Donald Stelring could ever be.

Comments by Jessie such as the following show what he actually thinks.

"Barack...he's talking down to black people...telling geniuses how to behave."

“There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

“His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality,” Jackson said in a statement released Sunday responding to the angry post-Lebron signing statements from Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. “(He) sees LeBron as a runaway slave.”

And of course when he called Jews "Hymies" and called NYC "Hymietown", that was taken out of context, while he was talking one on one to a reporter.

When Jessie is gone the world will be a better place. People will continue to hate, with or without Jessie Jackson's involvement and it won't be covered up because of a donation to a shakedown artist, it might actually be dealt with instead of being paid for.

Do what you want with Sterling. Fine him, suspend him, etc. Wont change the way he thinks. Most you can do is not allow him to go to games.

I was trying to be 'polite' about it given the immediacy of the events, but your reply isn't wrong when read properly ... which is to say that the NAACP is (for example) a far bigger sham than the NCAA could ever try to be (maybe it's the letters) ... still, it's the timing of it all that draws the laugh out of me ... I mean, now not only do we have Sterling that has to deal with his stupidity, but the domino effect might also include the NAACP having to dance around their greedy duplicitousness.

Why does a guy who seemingly hates black people buy a pro sports team where 80% of the payers are black?

Its even better that they share a stadium with Magics Lakers......Akward at the water cooler!

We get that you don't like what Jesse Jackson is about. From what I've read just about everyone that posts here has a similar view of him. That being said your anger is misplaced in this particular situation. Choosing to focus on Jesse will NOT change what Sterling said. It will NOT make it disappear or make it better either. It just seems strange and out of touch.

Also the world won't be any different without Jesse around. There are many people of all colors that shakedown people all the time or ask for kickbacks for various reasons. You may even call some of them friends and there is no question that you've voted for some of them. You may have even been guilty of it yourself.

No one expects to change the opinion of a man his age. Many people of all colors believe his pattern of behavior is wrong and believe he should be disciplined for it. Just like they would expect the league to do to anyone else.

bigfan, have you read Shakedown, by Kenneth Timmerman, I want to say? I read it in high school. It's quite good. Jesse's a piece of work. Ugly past with the Black Stone Rangers that I wouldn't have known about.
