Josh Smith isn't on an NBA roster.

Do you really believe his nba career is over?

One of the worst teams in the league doesn't even want him.

You are quite the non historian aren't you. The Wizards ate Gilbert Arenas contract which was far more lucrative. Stop with the editorializing. You don't know what you're talking about.

The MAGIC used the Amnesty Provision after trading for him so they could clear cap space. The Pistons didn't Amnesty Josh Smith and they got no extra cap space by waiving him. More bad thoughts. #Embarrassing

notice how you didn't answer the question. You know he will be on a team before the end of the week

That's not the point. A bad team was willing to take a $30M cap hit instead of having a top 15 PF on their team.

It definitely isn't good look for him. This move was not made for purely basketball reasons.

Not totally true. They did gain cap flexibility by cutting him using the stretch provision on his contract. They get to pay out his salary over 5 years instead of 2 now.

So instead of taking a hit over the next 2 years they have the option of stretching it out over several more years. That means the 2020 Pistons may still have a cap hit for a top 15 PF that hasn't played for them in half a decade.

The teams were wrong but the fact remains that he received 62 million after being by the magic. He was waived and the money was ate. You still have it wrong that this has never been done before.

The Magic didn't take a cap hit. No matter how you try to dress it up it was a terrible thought. The Magic traded for him so they could get cap relief. The Pistons just signed Josh Smith last year and had to cut him a year later and they won't clear his contract off their cap.

The Pistons have more flexibility because of the move. It was not made because he is terrible at basketball. Actually he is having a better season than Lance Stephenson

It was not made because he was bad at basketball? It was made to give them flexibility? Okay. Good talk. Let's not have anymore.

He is having a better season than Lance Stephenson for what it is worth. I would be shocked if a contending team does not attempt to sign him. Once a contender signs him you are going to say it was only done because there was very little in the way of financial risk involved. If he can't play then why would they bother?

Who said he wasn't an NBA player? We said Taj was better. Huge difference.

For the past yr and a couple of months he has been. Taj has been better. Coincidentally it occurred during the time in which Smith has been on the Pistons. Detroit is a terrible franchise with a terrible point guard. He is the one that should have been cut. Prior to Detroit it was no doubt who the better player was.

Taj Gibson is not a top 15 PF. That was another of your erroneous claims also

Favre Fan actually said it. I sort of said it when I said he would start on most teams.

yep. That is where this whole thing started. He said that Taj would start on most NBA teams. Most would be more than 15 and I provided a list of about 20 guys that I would rather have than Taj. Josh Smith was one of those guys. In Nas' s defense there were a number of people on here that also believed that Taj is a top 15 power forward.

yesterday on the Starters they were reporting (?) the teams interested were Mavs, Rockets, Kings ??

Rockets seems to make some sense

Rockets and the Kings would make the most sense. He won't start in Dallas. I hope he ends up in Sacramento. I like Boogie Cousins and Rudy Gay. They need a four desperately

Dallas probably gives him the best chance to win a title but he will probably go to Miami or LA.

not sure playing with Cousins, Gay and a psycho owner for a (likely) non-playoff team would the best environment for Josh
