Why does the NBA intelligentsia hate the Warriors so much?

Proud Warrior hater since their first championship season, back when lots of people actually did love them and pretended Curry was cute and an underdog because he was short rather than the most arrogant asshole in the NBA.

Curry isn't even among the top 2 of arrogant assholes on his own team.

On the game itself, I don't think I've ever seen a team so able to take advantage of bad calls as the Warriors are. I mean they've had the bad calls going their way really stack up the last 3 games, but it's nothing like Lakers-Kings, Lakers-Blazers, or Heat-Mavericks, at least as far I can recall. It just feels almost as bad as those games because they're so adept at making 2 bad calls in a row turn into a 6+ point swing (and also because I hate their guts of course). And Curry and Durant are the 2 best frontrunners in the league when things start going Golden State's way.

Oh give me a fucking break. This game was poorly officiated on both sides and if anything it slanted Cleveland’s way.

I can't think of a single bad call that went Cleveland's way during the last 5 minutes of regulation and overtime (and don't even try to mention Klay's clear as day hook on Hill) but I can give you multiple ones to the Warriors benefit on both ends of the court.

You cannot.

Durant was stripped cleanly at least twice and shot free throws, Lebron was hacked clear as day (once right immediately after Durant was stripped cleanly!) and got nothing. That was the entire reason Cleveland went down late in regulation in the first place.

Durant was only stripped cleanly once and it was after Smith bumped him on the drive which wasn’t called. When LeBron stripped Durant he was literally hit in the face on the drive by the other Cav.

This is just nonsense like I figured. LeBron, Steph, Klay, and Love all had multiple plays where they were clearly fouled and it wasn’t called. That’s playoff basketball. It went both ways. And it seems to favor the Cavs most of the game but since so many calls were missed it’s hard to quantify.

The best team won because they outplayed the other team. This narrative is pretty pathetic.

All great players are arrogant assholes. Pretending other great ones aren’t is cute.

Pretending the guy who is the biggest asshole of all is a lovable underdog just because of his height is what's really cute.

I've also enjoyed how he's managed to escape all criticism whatsoever in both 2016 and athis year because every bad game he has gets spun as him being injured whether he actually is or not. I bet every other superstar in the sport would kill for that kind of readymade excuse for all losses instead of questions about clutchness, heart, etc.

Agree with you on the injury part but who considers him an underdog?

Green is his only competition. Durant's unlikability has nothing to do with arrogance or assholery but is instead because of his insecurity and cowardice.

You can be insecure and arrogant at the same time.

It’s interesting you attribute insecurity and cowardice to Durant and not LeBron when it comes to ditching teammates for better situations. Bias?

JR is a fucking clown, but I just remembered Lebron pushed for his resigning after they won in 2016.

JR Smith wasn't anywhere near Durant when Hill stripped him in overtime. Or are you referring to yet another iffy calls going Durant's way?

No Lebron had stripped him before any contact with any other Cav.

Just assuming or asserting that the calls even out is what's really nonsense (or that they somehow went the CAVS way).

I haven't said a single thing about Lebron's likability one way or the other. Though if I recall correctly, I don't believe he joined a 73 win team he had just blown a 3-1 lead against. And I don't believe he's been caught using burner accounts to defend himself and throw his old teammates and coach under the bus either, nor has he played the emo "why does everyone hate me :( :( :( " card to anywhere near the extent of "The Servant."

The last sentence is certainly wrong. As for the rest, I think joining the next best player in your conference along with another All Star when you were already on a contending team qualifies as insecure and cowardly. The twitter stuff puts Durant on another level but now we’re just arguing degrees and not differences.

No it's not. Lebron has never given the kind of woe is me interviews that Durant was doing before this season. Hell he played up the villain part for his early part in Miami instead of whining to the press about being booed like Durant was.

Glad you agree that Durant's cowardice and insecurity are both greater than Lebron's and legitimate avenues of criticism!

The top part is wrong once again. I guess you forgot about the “wake up to your sad lives” or whatever it was press conference, along with the 100 other similar ones that year. You’re a prisoner of the moment on this.

I agree on Durant. I don’t like him. All he did was follow in LeBrons footsteps though.

Not my caption. From twitter:

This is an all-time great sports photo.

Every single face is in this photo is an expression of pure confusion except for JR Smith, who, for the first time in his life, is hell-bound on getting as far away from the basket as possible.

Lebron post game now. He is dressed in a suit and tie.

Notes :

He is pissed about the charge call.

Asked about JR smith : forget about game 1. he will never give up on jr or any of his teammates. jr did not say anything post game but i feel like he did but it's private.

how is lebron's eye ? he says his eye has been better. it's blurry and got worse. Draymond poked him in the eye.

your young players nba finals exp : step up paraphrasing.

another question about the overturned charge call : lebron read the play like he did in the past all his life. he did it 100s of times, he took the hit. should have been a charge. dont know what to say he says.

espn asshole writer looking at blonde woman in disdain asking lebron a question. he hates her probably bec she's a woman.

lebron doesn't know about scuffle at end of game.

reporter asks if they take consolation win : lebron says NO. it was dumb question.

lebron says tonight was best post season game cavs played this year and game was taken away from them.

lebron pissed at same espn asshole reporter. he pissed at him as he should. say he answered the question already. good for lebron getting pissed at this douchebag. he is trying to protect jr smith. he walks out! he walks out after reporter keeps asking about jr smith!

WOW! fuck ESPN.
