Hawger,

I've been meaning to ask you.....why is Larry Sanders turning into DeMarcus Cousins?

I have no idea, but he doesn't respect any authority and Boylan can't get him under control. I think he has been ejected 3 times i the last 6 games. He is also getting dangerously close to a automatic suspension for technicals.

Is it the team or the coach? I watched several players throw a tantrum and act as if they really didn't care about the team. There is a lot of talent on that roster but most of them seem to only care about their numbers.

It is why I have said that there is no way Boylan can come back as the coach, there is no respect at all for authority. It is unfortunate, but they need somebody to grab control of this runaway horse. Jennings has zero respect for him and for the most part has been horrendous of late. Including being benched twice in the 4th quarter recently. Look at Sanders, he I believe was thrown out of like 3 of 8 games, unfortunately just another Bucks disappointment.

Is there a better example of backing into the playoffs than the Bucks? They went 4-12 in their last 16 games. Yikes...

I don't think 1 player has any respect for Boylan as they know he will not be back. They have played as a bunch of individuals with their own agendas and not as a team. I can't even watch anymore, I really want to like this team and franchise more, but they make it very difficult.

Before the first round playoff series between the eighth-seeded Bucks and the defending champion Heat got started, Brandon Jennings went on record as saying that his team would win the series in six games.

Now that we’re two games in, after Miami won Game 1 by 23 points and Game 2 by 12, Jennings (as seen in the video clip above) doesn’t see any reason to back down from those comments.

“I still said six,” Jennings told Craig Sager after Game 2. “So we’ll see what happens. Might take a little longer.”

In fairness to Jennings, what’s he supposed to say? That his team has no chance and is going to lay down to get willingly steamrolled for four straight games?

Milwaukee actually showed a lot of positive signs in Game 2, and those are the things they’ll need to build upon when the series shifts to Milwaukee Thursday night for Game 3.

The Bucks were within just three points after three quarters, before a 12-0 run from Miami to open the fourth put the game away. Milwaukee can’t afford those types of lapses, though the energy from Miami’s second unit, especially from Chris Andersen in this series, might be too difficult for the Bucks to match.

Regardless of how you view Jennings’ comments, he deserves credit for doing everything he can to back up his bold prediction. He leads the Bucks in scoring over the first two games of the series, although most of that damage was done during a stellar 18-point first half in Game 1; in Game 2, when Miami’s defense was focused on taking the ball out of the hands of both Jennings and Monta Ellis, he finished 3-15 from the field for just eight points.

Milwaukee got strong games offensively from Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders in Game 2, as well as from Mike Dunleavy off the bench in a game where Jennings and Ellis both finished in single digits scoring. Milwaukee needs to get its two leading scorers more involved in Game 3, continue to get production inside from its bigs, and avoid being on the wrong end of one of those monster Miami runs to have a chance at extending the series beyond four games.

Y! Sources: Lakers assistant coach Steve Clifford interviewing for the Milwaukee Bucks coaching job today.

Steve Clifford joins the Lakers for his first season after spending the past five seasons (2007-12) as an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic. Over five seasons on Stan Van Gundy’s staff, Clifford helped the Magic to a 259-135 (.657) record, highlighted by a trip to the 2009 NBA Finals.

Prior to his time in Orlando, Clifford spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets (2003-07) after working with the New York Knicks for three seasons, two as an assistant coach (2001-03) and one as an advance scout (2000-01).

Entering the NBA with more than a decade of college coaching experience, Clifford served as an assistant coach at East Carolina University for one season following four years as head coach at Adelphi University, where he compiled a record of 86-36 (.705). Leading Adelphi to four straight 20-win seasons, he became the first coach in school history to record consecutive 20- plus win campaigns while guiding the Panthers to four appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

After gaining his first coaching experience over two seasons at Woodland High School in Maine, Clifford began his college coaching career as an assistant at St. Anselm’s College in New Hampshire for four seasons. Following his time with the Hawks, he served one season as an assistant at Fairfield University, spent the next four seasons at Boston University and one season after that at Siena College before accepting the head coaching position at Adelphi.

Following a four-year playing career at the University of Maine at Farmington, Clifford, named Best Defensive Player in his final two seasons while serving as team captain, graduated with a degree in special education.

Report: Jerry Sloan meets with Bucks to discuss coaching job

Kurt Helin

How do you think Brandon Jennings and Jerry Sloan would get along?

It could happen. Sloan, the long time coach of the Jazz who retired a couple years ago mid-season, met with Bucks management to discuss the job, reports Sam Amick at USA Today.

According to two people with knowledge of the situation, the former Utah Jazz coach who resigned abruptly in Feb. 2011 has already met with the Milwaukee Bucks about their vacant coaching position and is being seriously considered.

This is not a lock, the Bucks are casting a wide net. They have already reportedly tried to speak to Stan Van Gundy (and were shot down), interviewed Nate McMillan and Houston assistants Kelvin Sampson and J.B. Bickerstaff. Monday they interviewed Lakers assistant Steve Clifford, reported Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Clifford also interviewed for the Bobcats job. Sampson and McMillan are the names that come up in seemingly every job search.

The Bucks are going to be an interesting team this summer. Monta Ellis is a free agent as is J.J. Redick and it may be tough to keep both. The Bucks can match any offer for Brandon Jennings (but he and Redick were -10 points per 48 minutes when paired this season). Jennings, however, sounds like a guy looking for a big deal from a big market and if he gets it would you really match? There are good players under contract such as Larry Sanders and John Henson.

The question remains what kind of team are they trying to build, and will the coach they hire fit that?

Sloan would be a disciplinarian and bring a flex motion offense that will work in the NBA.

Will it work with Jennings at the point?

He did a great job in Utah before Deron Williams drove him out. I'm not sure Brandon Jennings will tolerate Sloan either if he gets the job in Milwaukee. That has DISASTER written all over it.

Larry Drew is preparing to part ways with the Hawks and will interview for the head coach position with the Bucks Monday.
Drew told the Atlanta Journal Constitution Friday that in a meeting with general manager Danny Ferry earlier this week the two came to an amicable agreement to allow the coach to interview for other vacant positions in the league. The Bucks called Ferry about speaking with Drew, who is still under contract until June 30, and they were granted permission.
“I’ve moved on from the situation,” Drew told the AJC. “We had a very professional talk just trying to get things in order since I’m still under contract.”
There has also been interest in Drew from a second team. There are currently five openings for head coaches in the NBA – the Bucks, Pistons, Nets, Bobcats and 76ers.

I bet Larry Drew wasn't offered an extension to continue coaching the Atlanta Hawks.

Chus has got nothing on you, SHARK.

It was an educated guess on my part. Besides, I bet you didn't know Lionel Hollins, a guest today on "The Dan Patrick Show", doesn't have a contract for next season despite coaching the Memphis Grizzlies to their first trip in the Western Conference Finals in franchise history.

I realize it now. Even though I have family living in San Antonio, I think Memphis has a really good chance to make it to their first NBA Finals in franchise history.

And a free-agent rumble: There's a rising belief in exec circles that Bucks prefer to re-sign Monta Ellis over Brandon Jennings this summer

I'm kind of ok with Monta, but please no Reddick. Unless you can get JJ at $5 mil per or less.

Are they trying to be a lottery team on purpose?

Thanks alot Hammond!! Maybe you can pull off a summer deal for Mike Miller. Maybe offer them Larry Sanders or something.

#TobiasHarris

:|

If you're Keeping Score at home, you're an idiot. You know what the trouble with guys like you are? You have all the answers but nobody ever asked you any questions. Why don't you shut your mouth for a minute, and I'll try to address your concerns.

Let's just get this Tobias Harris thing out of the way first. I didn't like his name. Plain and simple. You do realize that Larry Harris, my predecessor, is the same guy that drafted Andrew Bogut, right? The same Andrew Bogut that you're constantly crying about. Well I traded Bogut for Monta, the same guy you just got done saying that you wouldn't mind if he comes back next year.

Can anybody please you? Other than say, maybe a big black stud with a 10" Johnson. See what I did there? Johnson? I've read your racelogs.
Maybe you could just blow yourself for change, rather than trying to do so with every board member here.

So ya, Tobias is gone.

You say you wanted Mike Budenholzer. You know how hard that name is to pronounce? There's serious extra costs involved with that many fucking letters when it comes to things like nameplates and the like. Just because he coached under Pop, DOESN'T MEAN HE'S POP. By you're logic, I should've brought in Tex Winter.

You know who you remind me of? Stephen Jackson. No matter how many times in a row you miss, you just keep jacking up ill advised shots. It's Monday morning point guards like you that give true fans a bad name.

You know who's a good fan? Tad Queasy. He sent me a nice congratulatory email and for a few months out of every year, he brandishes a proud Milwaukee Bucks logo as his avatar.
What avatar are you sporting? Oh yeah, that skinny skank who's had more boyfriends than I've had head coaches the past 6 months. I've had 3.

It's people like you and that pig guy with the stupid party hat that make me want to talk the Senator into moving to Seattle.

Ok, so you also wanted Mike Malone. MIKE MALONE??????

And don't even get me started on Kelvin Sampson.

Which leads me to Larry Drew. This guy could don a uniform tomorrow and he'd already be better than anybody on this team that I assembled. Well you know what I mean. He was a good player, he's a good coach, and I thought with his connections that maybe we could land Devin Harris in free agency this Summer.

You're not going to get a big name coach. I personally thought Skiles was a great hire and think this is a good hire. You want Del Harris?

I looked for you at the Timber Rattlers game on Sat, but there were to many 25 year old frat guys to pick which one was you. I did enjoy the $1 beers as we waited out the rain delay to start the game though.

Jerkwinkle.

So anyways, the Larry Drew presser is underway. I have changed my mind. He will lead us to the promised land. I hope to God that Mini Ditka doesn't read this.

How did Little Hawger Junior do?

They had a bad game against Appleton to open, then blew a lead against Green Bay on Saturday. They were supposed to play again at 5:30 but as you know the sky opened up and it flipping poured for about 20 minutes. We came back yesterday and won our first game and then got beat the 2nd game 5-2. Not a good weekend but they are not playing well.

Does this mean they keep Jennings now? Can't see how they would rationalize losing Jennings and Ellis for nothing after one year of trying to build a team around them.
