I don't think that this team as presently constituted is a No. 2 seed. The product that they are placing out on the floor is not very good. Etwaun Moore and Taj Gibson are starting. Mike Dunleavy is starting. You are not going to win very many games with those 3 starting for you. 2 of the guys are barely solid bench guys and the other is a fringe NBA player.

I know you want to make it mostly about Hoiberg but it's bigger than him. I'm a Paxson guy but I'm willing to admit that he has made mistakes. Snell is not very good, McDermott I like but he is not an NBA starter at this point and may never be. You can't make that trade unless you know that McDermott will start and play 32+ minutes a night. If he can't beat out Etwaun Moore then what good is he? Mirotic is a tweener which means he will probably amount to nothing more than a solid bench guy.

Butler is not a franchise player. It's no knock on him but if your team isn't going anywhere and he is the guy with the most value then you have to look at trading him. It may not be about Hoiberg and his vaunted system as much as its about maximizing value. Butler is the only chip the Bulls have to play. It's also very unPaxson like. He doesn't usually make these sorts of trades.

Your position for some time has been, unpersuasively, that the Bulls don't have enough talent to go far in the playoffs. That's simply false given Thibs' ability to get the to playoffs each year, and even pulling off upsets at times, when his roster was missing at various times Rose, Deng, and Noah, and sometimes all three or two of three at the same time. The difference between those years and this year is that the new coach is not as talented as Thibs.

To bolster your lack of talent case, you just said Dunleavy being on the team and starting is evidence that the team is not any good. This is a late addition for you; for months you've been shilling Dunleavy as an integral piece of the team whose absence partly explains Hoiberg's lackluster start. So which one is it? Either Dunleavy is irrelevant and the team sucks, or Dunleavy's absence has undercut Hoiberg's ability to produce wins. No need to pretend you never said certain things in order to avoid fessing up to bad pro-Hoiberg arguments.

This statement alone means you need to stop questioning his value. He signed a max contract a year ago and you called it a cap friendly deal. That means he's very good and very valuable. Stop trying to manufacture an argument.

The Orlando Magic turned down this trade. To be frank theirs is really the only ones that matter. I'm pretty sure if this particular trade had been proposed a week ago around here the vast majority of people on here would have refused it from a Pro-Butler standpoint. The Magic effectively turned it down.

It's not manufacturing an argument. It is a relevant question to be honest. How valuable is he if the Magic refused the trade. You after all have the guy as a future Hall of Famer. Magic apparently don't think so do they?

All you do is manufacture bullshit. If you stopped doing that, it would be alot easier to respond to whatever point you are trying to make. Just take this post for example: the only responses on the trade from Bulls fans all say do it, and yet you just blatantly made some shit up about none of us would want to do that deal. Just stop making shit up. On that note, I never said Jimmy Butler is a future Hall of Famer. I said he has a good chance based on the low admission criteria. Stop making shit up. It's annoying, and it's the reason you aren't as credible as vegan, nas, imu, and anyone else here. I might disagree with them, but they can have an honest debate. You don't seem capable of it.

Mike Dunleavy played a key role but it was apparent that he was not a starter. The Bulls never brought him here to be a starter. He was the best they had so he played. A 35 yr old guy coming off back surgery that wasn't really good when he was good is not a difference maker. They were .500 without him last yr and it was duly noted by me. It was obvious by the end of the Cleveland series that there needed to be an upgrade.

Did you choose to pick the thread where I advocated for Rudy Gay? Did you mention how I think it was necessary for McDermott to beat Dunleavy out? Nope and honestly not surprising.

Lastly getting to the playoffs and going far in the playoffs are 2 separate things. Thibs only advanced his team once when they were not supposed to advance. He also lost a series in which he was supposed to advance.

Hoiberg will take the team to the playoffs. He won't go very far. If he wins a series that will be about it. The Bulls had a guy that finished 4th in MVP voting the year of Augustin. Which guy from this team will even come close to that? I will give you an answer none.

Hoiberg is an easy target, but the problems on this team extend beyond him and it's obvious that Paxson agrees or he wouldn't have offered Butler in a trade.

I was exaggerating the Hall of Fame stuff, just like you were making up stuff about manufacturing an argument. The only way I could do that is if I was the person that proposed the trade. I didnt.

I'm just going to be frank and honest about this. Some of you dudes really lack credibility on this stuff because all you do is take personal shots in order to advance your bullshit. You think because you have formed a consensus that it makes your points valid. It doesn't.

I wasn't the person that started the thread. I didn't even state that I was in favor of the trade initially. I merely commented about it. I brought up his value because it was fair to do so. You are also off about everyone being in favor. That's wrong because Vegan stated that he wasn't. Probably others but I wasn't checking that much.

At each point it became about me even as I tried to steer it back on course. You guys make shit up all the time and I let it roll. It also doesn't take long for the cracks to start rolling either. I have sort of refrained but enough's enough. It's obvious, very obvious that some of you have a bullshit agenda.

There's no consensus or groupthink here. Vegan, Nas, IMU, DB, myself, etc disagree all the time. We're just not trolls so we don't argue over stupid shit like "Is Jimmy Butler a good player?"

I'm confident that they made deals with Gasol and Dunleavy under the table.

What do you mean?

They promised to pay them later in order to sign them. If they resign Gasol that will be clear to me. While he is still good he isn't a good fit anymore or worth a major investment.

Wait, are you referring to Dunleavy's current deal or his first one? Because I certainly hope there's not an under-the-table deal to sign him again when he's 38, and there certainly would be no need to do so given the fact that I doubt he was getting anything resembling the 3 year contract he got from the Bulls this past offseason from any other team.

There seems to be a consensus when comes to me but to give you an example of bullshit that was never said. I have never asked if Jimmy Butler is a good player. Franchise and good are two different things. I don't call you on your bullshit but I'm going to do it now. It's obvious what's going on. It became about me the second that I posted check page 1. You actually suggested that I was creating hypotheticals when there was an actual trade proposal made.

You just said everyone is in agreement that they would make the trade. They'really not. I just found 3-4 people who said they wouldn't, and that includes you.

It's obvious when the attempt is made to put guys in message board blenders. When it happens it's easy to detect. It becomes about the guy and not what that guy posts.

I asked if there are any guys that you would consider trading Butler for that are not top ten guys. I don't really remember that question being answered.that is a legit question to ask.

Also you just said that your consensus group think doesn't exist and they don't troll. You are full of shit. Nas is regarded as the biggest troll on this board.

I hate to throw he and imu in on this one because it really isn't their fight this time. I referenced them because of what you stated.

I have to side with LTG on this. If you rank Nas's sports thoughts high then you must be high as well. Nas from a few years ago wasn't a troll, but he certainly has taken to it recently...both in sports and in politics. I'll assume your inclusion of your own thoughts atop a list is in good humor so I'll let that pass.

I don't think Skiles was much of a screamy white guy. At least on the bench he wasnt. I think his was relegated to the locker room if he did it.

I do think screamy white guys are overvalued as coaches though. I think Chicago guys love the fire and passion guys more so than low key guys.

I liked Sanders more when he was merely an independent Senator from Vermont. Never viewed him as Presidential material. As a protest guy that rails against the system he is fine. I don't know if he will be able to implement his plan. Socialism talk has obscured talk about him being Jewish. I was surprised to learn that he is the first Jewish person to ever win a primary. That has not been played up as much and I think it's good thing.

Nas jokes around from time to time, but it's pretty easy to distinguish his serious posts from his joking posts. If you think he's a troll in the same way guys like Dignified Rube and long time guy are, then I don't know what message board you're reading.

Rube is, LTG isn't. Quite simple.

You think Nas is a troll and LTG isn't? Again, we must be reading entirely different boards. That's a ridiculous opinion, IMO. I've had countless arguments with Nas going back to 2007, and he doesn't argue in bad faith. He's always been sincere and honest from what I've been able to tell. LTG is neither.

long time guy isn't a troll, he just has opinions and sticks to his guns. Nas posts outlandishly to draw negative attention, i.e., trolling.

long time guy repeatedly and deliberately misrepresents arguments. He goes beyond exaggeration into just straight up lying about what someone said. That is a troll. Nas having a higher opinion of Jay Cutler and Hillary Clinton than you do doesn't qualify as trolling. Sorry.

If this has legs the Bulls will have to seriously consider it. Orlando's first round pick would probably be a top 12 pick. Vukevic is top 5 or 6 center and Oladipo is the type of athlete that would be tailor made for Hoiberg's system.

The rumor is the Bulls offered it and it was rejected. Nothing for the Bulls to seriously consider.

Very interesting that it is the Bulls and not Magic who appear to have proposed this trade. They obviously don't consider Butler to be a franchise player. There also must be questions as to his overall impact on the team too.

I really don't know how interesting that is. "They" also thought Hoiberg would be a better coach than Thibs and thought McDermott was worth trading up for. Not sure I want "they" on my side in the Jimmy Butler debate.

Company man LTG wants to purge the roster of any disobedient players who refuses to run what he's called as "hoiball.".
This was a lie. Never said it. Did you bother to call Vegan out on it? You purveyor of all things that are true on this message board FF?

Jimmy Butler is really their only tradeable asset. His value is as high as its ever going to be. If you can obtain 3 potential starters you do it. Know other Bull has as much value. He is not a good fit for Hoiball, so Paxson would be an idiot not to at least think about it. The Bulls have to get younger and more talented. This is Taj. Gbison and Deng all over again. Better to get a rid of a guy too early as opposed to too late.

I don't know what that means. Butler is already way better than either of those guys have ever been. I don't disagree with the rest of your post, however, it also has nothing to do with my post you quoted above it.

Never compared Deng and Butler as players during this comment. Did you admit you misrepresentation or lie FF? Nope

Yeah, I don't think that is fair either. Butler just got good like two years ago and seems to still be improving. I'm pretty sure he's not on the decline right now. But my main point to him was that it's not an offer the Bulls can "consider". They reportedly offered it and it was rejected. They would most likely have to settle for less than that if they want to move Butler.

Did I ever suggest that Butler is on the decline? Another misrepresentation or lie don't you think. Im still on page 1.

You don't seem to know what the word misrepresentation means. I prefaced that post by literally telling you that I did not understand what your post meant. Given that, it would be impossible to misrepresent it.

Keep trying, though. I have a couple more hours to kill at work.

I never said you said Butler was on the decline. All I said was that he was not, in response to the post I quoted by Nas.

Keep trying, champ. You're bound to hit on one of these. But the fact is, I don't lie about what others post so it might take you awhile.

LTG can we please stop with the if then fallacies. According to your thinking if the Clippers turned down the Warriors' offer of Curry and Thompson for Paul, Jordan, Griffin, and two unprotected first rounders, you'd question whether or not Curry and Thompson had any value.

Once again a hypothetical I never created since it was a proposed trade. Another lie or misrepresentation by a "credible" poster. Did you bother to comment? Nope.

I have just caught you doing it twice. The semantics game won't fly either.

  slow your roll, my friend. This particular post is a push back against the logic underlining some of your earlier posts. Obviously (or maybe not), the hypothetical is just that - a hypothetical, not a misrepresentation since you can only misrepresent things that have actually occurred.

No semantics games are being played. The fact is you are wrong, and your "Gotcha" posts didn't work out, for reasons I explained. Like I said, feel free to keep trying though.
