The streak is now 26 and counting for the NBA Champs from Miami. The Heat had no trouble beating the bumbling Bobcats down in South Beach, even as Dwyane Wade sat the game out with a sore right knee 109-77, thanks to 32 & 10 assists from LeBron James. NBA/ESPN gets the next 2 bites of the Heat's apple. They'll have the Magic game in Orlando this eve @ 6P, followed by Wednesday's rematch with the Bulls in Chicago @ 7P. Might the streak reach 28 by Friday?

There's a good chance, and what some may have forgotten is that the Bulls only scored 67 points in their most recent meeting vs. the Heat back on February 21st, an 86-67 loss to Miami. Well, the Bulls have a chance to end the streak tomorrow night. Not sure if Coach Thibs has enough healthy bodies to pull it off. They scored just 67 in an 86-67 loss to Miami February 21st that was as rotten a performance as any of the sub .500 losses at the Mad(dening)house on Madison all season.

It's a play on words. These Bulls have been truly Maddening at home this season on their home floor. I also remember they committed 27 turnovers in that last game vs. the NBA Champs.

If the streak continues, it might continue for 2 more games. The Heat head to New Orleans Friday and then San Antonio Sunday night on NBA TV. I don't think they'll tie or beat the 1971-72 Lakers for the NBA record. They had 33 wins back then, and Hall of Famer Jerry West actually is cheering for the Heat to pull it off.

I heard NBA/ESPN's Jon Barry Sunday on "SportsCenter", just a few hours before Miami's win streak reached 26, OKC, vs. the bumbling, stumbling Bobcats. While he seems to think the Heat might just pull it off, he also remembers that the Spurs had a lengthy win streak of their own down the stretch. After that win streak was snapped, Barry said that the Spurs started to commit bad habits and the end result was a first round exit vs. the Grizzlies in the NBA Playoffs last spring. Like last year's Bulls losing to an inferior 76ers' team in a #1/#8 matchup in the Eastern Conference, San Antonio was also a #1 seed that also lost to an #8 in Memphis in the Western Conference. That said, Barry would like to actually see the Heat lose one or two games before the end of the regular season. Barry thinks the streak ends Sunday night in San Antonio.

In the end, Jon believes the Heat's road back to the NBA Finals in the East is easy.

I don't think they will do it. The Wade injury is a bit of a concern, so they will probably rest him since these games are pretty much meaningless. I see them either losing to the Bulls or San Antonio.
