You really didn't have to mention the Bulls in your post, but I do understand your point.

Why don't you think so?

Because they're going to stub their toes, even though the schedule appears very favorable for them.

That doesn't really make sense though. If their schedule is favorable, then one would believe they actually have a good chance of breaking the Lakers' streak. And why do you think they'll stub their toes? Just because you do? Is there a basketball reason for that?

What I meant is that the Heat's incredible win streak has to end sometime, OKC, and it might be against an opponent we least expect. That's why they play these games. You know that as well as I do.

Remember...The Hornets of all teams snapped the Nuggets' 15 game win streak...just last night.

So the streak has to end because it just simply has to end sometime.

I mean, I've heard people say stuff like that before, but...I ain't buying that. I see no reason why Miami can't make history here, and I'm actually rooting for them to do it.

They have a shot to pull it off, OKC. The Heat have a chance to make NBA history. After the Bulls tomorrow at the U.C., at New Orleans Friday & at San Antonio Sunday night, the Heat host the Knicks in an NBA/TNT game April 2nd. Here's who else awaits Miami...

April 5th @ Charlotte
April 6th vs. Philadelphia
April 9th vs. Milwaukee (The Record?)

SHARK,

Could you answer a few questions for me?

1. If the Heat win out in the regular season, does the streak continue into the playoffs, or is it just a regular season streak?

2. If it is a regular season streak only, and they win out, would it start back up again next year game 1?

3. How do you feel about streaking in general?

The answer to question #3...I don't want to see that kind of streaking.

As for #1, I don't think the Heat's regular season win streak would count necessarily when it REALLY matters in the NBA Playoffs. I'm not sure about #2 either.

Should the Heat make NBA history like this, it's proof positive that there's a huge glob of NBA bad, very similar to 1996-97 when the Bulls won 72 games.

I just think it's very debatable whether the Heat can pull off a historic win streak that has stood for some 4 decades, let alone all those arguments whether this year's Miami team could knock off the 1996 Bulls who won 72 games en route to the NBA Championship themselves. Arguments can be raised from now until the end of time.

Even if the Heat is just short of the 33 the 1971-72 Lakers won in a row, what they've done right now is awfully tough to do.

KS, for a guy who loves my posts as much as you purport to, you always seem to rush to the other side of any conversation I'm having. You did the same crap with Walt. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Well, NBA/TNT has a doubleheader tonight with Knicks/Celtics (minus Kevin Garnett for 2 weeks due to an ankle) followed by Clippers/Mavericks starting @ 6P. Terry & Dan's buddy Dick Stockton calls the LAC/Dallas matchup tonight come 8:30P.

At least Walt isn't in my signature. Only my heart.

I still want more support from you on the board.

This thing is really starting to come full circle. Whereas I brought SHARK and Kid together, SHARK is trying to bring Kid and I closer by mentioning the most important thing that Kid and I have in common: B&B

Thanks SHARK!!

Well, Dick Stockton's on NBA/TNT duty tonight in large part because the regular NBA/TNT guys are on NCAA Tournament duty. The current TV voice of the Raptors, Matt Devlin, will call Knicks/Celtics in Boston tonight with Mike Fratello & MSG Network's Tina Cervasio on the sidelines starting @ 6P. Stockton, Chris Webber & David Aldridge call Clippers/Mavericks in Dallas come 8:30P-ish. Matt Winer subs for Ernie Johnson, Jr. on "Inside the NBA" after the games with Shaquille O'Neal, NBA TV's Dennis Scott & Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway in the Turner Sports' Atlanta studio.

EJ's headed back to the ATL to host TBS Sports' coverage of the West Regionals in Los Angeles Thursday & the South Regionals in Arlington, TX Friday, while Charles Barkley & Kenny Smith try to get words in edgewise with Greg Gumbel, Greg Anthony & Doug Gottlieb in New York for CBS Sports' coverage of the East Regionals in Washington, DC Thursday & the Midwest Regionals in Indianapolis Friday night. Kevin Harlan & Reggie Miller join Len Elmore & sideline reporter Lewis Johnson in L.A. Thursday for the West Regionals, while Marv Albert, Steve Kerr & Craig Sager will be in Arlington, TX for the South Regionals Friday on TBS.

If Bosh wasn't so damn soft Miami may still have a win streak... but it wasn't meant to be.

With last night's 101-97 Bulls' win over the Heat, they clinched a playoff spot. As things stand now, they'd play the Nets in a #4 vs. #5 matchup. The Bulls have won 2 of the 3 regular season matchups vs. Brooklyn this season with an NBA/TNT game next Thursday at the Barclays Center. A first round NBA Playoff preview?

Spurs are in trouble. Looked real bad tonight against the JV version of the Heat.

Carmelo Anthony had 50 in the Knicks' 102-90 road win over the Heat in Miami. LeBron James (hamstring), Dwyane Wade (ankle) & Mario Chalmers (ankle) all sat out the game for the NBA Champions. The Knicks are back in 2nd in the Eastern Conference standings with the win, their 9th in a row.

The Knicks head up to Atlanta for ESPN's Wednesday Night NBA this eve eyeing their 10th straight "W". The Hawks have a 1 game lead on the Bulls for the #5 seed in the East going into the game at Philips Arena.

I know you have a man-crush on the entire Spurs roster, but do you see them being able to beat a trifecta or Lakers, then Grizzlies/Clippers, and then Thunder to make a run to the finals?

I don't.

Yes. I think they are significantly better than the Lakers(or Jazz or Mavs) and would be shocked if they lost there. I think the Grizzlies or Thunder CAN beat them, but I dont think they will. I can't see the Clippers(or Nuggets) beating them.

I wont be surprised if they don't make the Finals, but I expect them to.

Despite the Lakers' big win over the Mavericks last night in Los Angeles, Utah still owns the #8 seed in the Western Conference as things stand now. That could change this eve as the Jazz host the Nuggets come 8P in Salt Lake City.

It's barely been 10 months since Rose's injury.

I know. It was partially in jest.

But if he doesn't come back until next season, it'll be 16 months.

Oh, you didn't hear? TNT canned Barkley and Kenny Smith and brought in the great Rick Fox and the eloquent Dennis Scott. The show will now revolve around Ernie's antics and Rick Fox's charming looks.

That's not true, guys. Sir Charles & Kenny are still on NCAA Basketball duty. They, Greg Gumbel, Greg Anthony, Doug Gottlieb & Seth Davis will try to get words in edgewise on CBS Sports' "Final Four Show" before, during & after the Final Four tomorrow from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

As for Rick Fox & Dennis Scott joining the bow-tie wearing Ernie Johnson, Jr. on TNT's NBA doubleheader, those 2 are technically NBA TV employees. Turner Sports happens to own a huge stake in NBA TV, DIRECTV 216.

Cancelled in the wake of the Boston Marathon Bombings yesterday. It will not be rescheduled, in large part because the Pacers & Celtics are locked in their respective playoff seeds.

It was supposed to be the first game of an NBA/TNT doubleheader followed by Blazers/Clippers starting at 7P this eve. I think the game that wasn't on the original schedule, Raptors/Hawks in Atlanta, will replace Indiana/Boston on TNT.
