I think it shows someone's true character. How they look for the easy path and don't want to have to put up the fight.

That is definitely one way to look at it.

You could also look at it like these guys don't want to end up like Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Ewing, and Reggie amongst others.

Nothing wrong with ring chasing.

McDermott’s agent deserves a significant cut of that deal. Incredible. He’s not even an nba caliber player. Joe Harris’s agent should be fired.

It will end up backfiring though. Those guys you mentioned died with their boots on. If you chase a title and ail you’re gonna look like a bitch and still miss the title.

Kawhi disappoints me though. Through five games he dismantled the Durant Warriors but just needed more spotlight. If healthy he doesn’t need much help. LeBron will be more than enough.

Paul George has agreed to a four-year, $137M max contract with the Thunder, league source tells ESPN. Deal includes a player option.

LeBron going to LA seems totally contingent on them pulling off a Leonard trade. Cousins + LeBron is not enough to make the Lakers a viable contender. LeBron is an idiot who does stupid things literally all the time, but is he stupid enough to sign on with the Lakers who, if Boogie isn't healthy, will struggle to make the playoffs?

For him to go to LA will all this fanfare then fail to make the playoffs or even just squeeze in will not look good. And does he really want to max effort every game of the 2018-19 season to drag these guys across the finish line? What will that mean for the playoffs if he makes it?

The Knicks really blew this. They could've been in an awesome spot to do exactly what LA did with all this cap room and tradeable assets, except with the added benefit of selling LeBron on the idea of staying in his Eastern Conference safe space where he can try about half the time and still finish with a top 4 seed. LeBron-Leonard-Porzingis would be more than enough to win the East and LeBron gets to play in New York with all the basketbloggers fawning over him even more than they already do. Seemed like a perfect match.

Any team lebron is on wins 50 games and easily makes the playoffs. That narrative is off

In my heart of hearts I think he stays in the East. Cleveland or Philadelphia the two most likely by far. If he goes to Cleveland and keeps winning the ECF and getting blown out by whoever wins the west...well he's been doing that for years now and it only seems to be building his legacy. Very few seem to be really holding it against him. Now that task is going to be getting harder with Boston healthy and Philly getting better, but I still give him better odds of pulling that off than dragging Julius Randle and Lonzo Ball through the western gauntlet.

Staying in Cleveland gives him a lot of points because its the human choice. People have changed, they seem to accept that the NBA is just gay like this now, so he wont be nearly as reviled for leaving as he was in 2010. Most people in Cleveland seem OK with it, the title seems to have given him redemption with them. BUT, he goes to Cleveland even if it fails it wont be held against him. That roster is a trainwreck and he'll have all the ready made excuses he's been enjoying--if he wins he overcame the odds and is the true GOAT, if he loses he's the GOAT for carrying those bums as far as he did. He cant lose staying in Cleveland. Now he probably cannot win either, but maybe the less risky choice is the right one.

There's no saying this for certain in the west. Especially if his second best player is Cousins with a huge health question mark.

Philadelphia is the best fit. That team, if healthy, beats the Celtics and gives the Warriors a run for their money.

Losing Ariza is a pretty big blow for the Rockets.

His minutes in the GS/HOU series were very helpful.

What are they going to pay him? 15-17 a season for multi-years?

I probably would get fired as a NBA GM when I'd refuse to pay some of these crazy salaries.

Was Houston competing for his services? Is this part of the risk of going in on LeBron?

He can’t beat Boston going forward and knows that. It invalidates the staying in the East theory imo.

There is. JJ Redick deal. More teams with cap space next year.

Makes sense.

Speaking of, isn't Reddick a free agent?

Another topic, if more teams have space next year, how do the Bulls really intend to use their space? We have heard they can take bad money in return for draft picks, but how many more young players do they want and when is this going to happen?
