I wonder why do players do this one day retirement thing? They are not changing anything historically or stats etc. What is the point besides possibly a photo or something?

That is some hilarious shit. That would be like Bryan Cox coming back to sign a one day deal to retire as a Bear. Still I can't believe he made it this long in the league I figured with his knees he would have been done 5 years ago, but he kept getting them checks.

Show of good faith to the fans and to grease the wheels for a job as an ambassador gig sitting court side and getting paid to shoot the shit like Scottie. Although if they put Amare in charge of that job he would probably just fall down the steps to the front row and end up suing Dolan and getting another 80M from the NYK
