You didn't hear? Racism is cool now in Trump's America. On a serious note, I am tired of Lebron's sanctimonious schtick. Just because you are the most dominant player of your generation doesn't insulate you from criticism, even if it is dumb criticism. Jordan was criticized and he didn't throw side shade through reporters and social media. No he just buried that hate deep down and saved it for his HOF speech. So Lebron know your role and shut the fuck up. |

I have to say, I probably wouldn't have thought anything of Jackson's usage of "posse" in that context (there's white privilege for you), but I think James is correct. Can you imagine Phil talking about Steve Kerr and his posse? |

I doubt Kerr had a posse as a player. |

I understand Lebron's clown on twitter can look up a Websters dictionary entry for posse that can be used to push the racist narrative, but language evolves over time. When people talk about posses they are more likely to think of it as a group of friends. Like DiCaprio's pussy posse. Is that a racist label or just some club that I wish I was apart of? |

The way Jackson used it was dismissive of a bunch of "grown ass men" all of whom are executives. It's funny that white people always scold blacks about how they need to "build something for yourselves" and then when they do those same white people try to diminish it by calling them "clowns" or "hangers on" or a "posse". |

Are you kidding me?? LeBron James and his posse of thugs trying to take on the greatest coach in NBA history? Give me a break! I can't wait for CFMB NBA expert Douchebag to weigh in on this one. |

I need a black guy's take on this. I didn't think there was anything racial about it. I use 'posse' without racial connotations. It is interchangeable with 'crew' or 'squad.' |

I'm torn on this one. Steve Kerr's probably not an apt comparison due to his age... but would he refer to, say, Dirk Nowitzki as having a posse? |

Man, it was good to see Maverick again", nobody would think anything of it. But he used it in a way that characterized LeBron's friends/professional associates as a bunch of goofs that are just fucking around. |

I need the opinion of someone more grounded. |

How many Western's did you ever watch that had a black guy in the Posse? I think it would be more of a white guy's crew. |

As far as his actual help to LeBron? I vaguely remember a lot of media considering him to be slime after The Decision turned out to be a faux pas (in terms of how to announce his decision) |

The context of the response was to a question regarding Lebron acting like a prima donna by trying to stay in Cleveland for an extra night, while the rest of the Heat got on a plane without him. I don't have a problem with it. If a black coach or executive or player said the exact same thing about the exact same scenario, not one person would have said boo. |

I vaguely remember a lot of media considering him to be slime after The Decision turned out to be a faux pas (in terms of how to announce his decision) The point is, it's LeBron's choice who his advisors are and who runs his businesses. The same thing goes for Derrick Rose. dan bernstein doesn't get to replace Reggie with the Jew of his choosing. It just doesn't work that way. And I don't think Phil consciously was making a racist statement. I don't think he should be punished or shamed out of the league. But what he said was disrespectful and in a way I doubt he would be to a white player. That's the essence of "white privilege". |
