Never realized there were like eight teams in the league at that time. |

Look at all those tiny white guys! They come up to the knee of giants like Steph Curry. And they could barely make it down the court. So unathletic! |

So what would a guy like Wilt average in todays NBA? |

The most impressive stat of all time is when Wilt averages over 48.0 mpg. That same year. |

There's gotta be studies on this but if you're playing each team in the league a minimum of seven times or whatever it was then at some point it becomes like practice. The more familiar you are with your opponent then the easier it is to execute over time. No way any of these guys put up the superhuman numbers they put up back then in a league with more than 6-7 teams. Not saying they're bums but some of these numbers would have to normalize. |

Another big issue is a lot of players weren't full time players as they didn't make enough. Imagine if Kevin Durant played a player from today who sold insurance to make a living and did basketball as a side job. He may score 150. |

And imagine being a full time insurance salesman and you're competing against these other insurance salesmen that also play pro basketball. Who do you want as your agent, some dweeb that has a picture of his wife and kids on his desk, or the guy with the autographed picture of him standing next to Wilt? That guy could sell 150k in policies a month. |

And imagine if Kevin Durant sold insurance. Wilt would put 70 up on him every game and probably get a great rate on his property and casualty. |

Let’s imagine how great Wilt would be if he was a full time player and not banging 20k chicks. |

FrankDrebin wrote: RFDC wrote: So what would a guy like Wilt average in todays NBA? 35 pts 18 reb 4 blocks Nah. He'd face more diverse defense schemes and personnel. I think the past forty years of basketball strategizing plus the growth of the game would be enough to bring those numbers down to sane levels. |

I’m guessing Wilt’s averages would be around AD’s. Something like 28-12 |

Wilt would be Hasheem Tabeet in today's NBA. |

If the defense went to stop Wilt's scoring I assume his assists and rebounds go up. |
