I'm bored with the 96 Bulls in 2K. What are some great run and gun video game teams from the past? |

I remember it was kind of an unwritten rule not to choose the Lienart, Bush, Lendale White USC teams back in the NCAA football online gaming days. |

Blackhawks on NHL '94. There used to be a blog called "I Am The Best In The World At NHL '94" and it was a guy scoring like 50 goals a game with Jeremy Roenick. |

Playing with tha Falcons when Vick was young was almost cheating, too. You could just roll out with drag routes in the same direction and choose pass/run depending on what the defense did. |

That NHL game the year after the Pens and Hawks were in the finals. Either of those teams would kick ass to the point you had to have a finals rematch to have a good game. |

Not sure if it was that title or a different one, but I used to play that game against my dad as a 8-9 year old and I quickly figured out a glitch involving bringing the offensive player around the back of the net and the goalie would get stuck on one side and then you just tap it on the other. I'd take like a 6-0 lead on him in minutes and he would just quit. Fun times. |

Kind of sensing a theme. |

conns7901 wrote: Jersey in Bases Loaded. Paste was a monster. oh yeah, jersey was the only way to play back in the day... but even tho the dude hit .467 they didnt think anyone would actually blow past 61HR... just imagine if paste had steroids! also this is kind of a vaguery, but back in the 00s with madden there was the team with michael vick and all the other teams. i think the 1998 49ers were a veritable superteam cuz steve young had a decent clip of speed (where you could theoretically do the vick thing where you'd do 4-5 WR sets, send em deep, and then either hit an open WR or bust a run for ~10-15yds) but then you also had terrell owens and jerry rice... so those 98 49ers were the balance of mobile QB + classy team. IIRC even the 98 vikings weren't that good-n-proper... 98 49ers ftw. |

Either way I killed people who tried to do that shit against me with the 4-3 Whip Man or Fireman defenses. There was also a real slick Nickel blitz I used for a couple Maddens that worked almost every time. You had to manually move guys around into position to do it tho. Was an art form to set everything up before the other guy could snap it. I didn't lose a single game for a few years, we used to do tournaments at different people's places back then. I also used to set all my offensive audibles out of the same Singleback 3WR set. That way if I called an audible -or bluffed and left the play the same- the guy going up against me had no clue. They had to guess every time. I think I started slipping around 2008 when I started to teach people some of my tricks, but the games changed little by little too. I've owned and played every Madden since it came out on SNES, Ultra 64, and finally switched to the PlayStation in 2001 (Eddie George cover year). I quit playing altogether in 2010 if memory serves. But yeah, Vick and McNabb were the two guys I remember people tried to be slick with like that. Didn't work against me tho. |
