Where do you rank Stockton all time when it comes to PG's? I put him #2 behind Magic. I think he was the best pure PG.

Thomas was better. Archibald? Hurt and juiced his stats playing with some terrible teams. Not sure I'd go that far.

He was no doubt better. Stockton played a lot longer so his numbers are more inflated but there was never a time that Stockton dominated his position. Isaiah was a top 5 player in the league for about a 3 to 4 year stretch. Stockton was never top 5. Never a top 10 player either.

Before his knees went bad Tim Hardaway was probably better also. People forget how good Pre Injury Tim Hardaway happened to be. This coming from a guy that was partial to Rockin Rod Strickland at the time.

His numbers are inflated? His career averages are better and they declined because he played 16 seasons. Take Stockton's 5 best seasons and any of those guys 5 best seasons and Stockton's numbers will be better. He wasn't the primary option either.

I doubt if any of Stockton's best seasons compare with Isaiah's 2nd season in the league. Stockton never avg more than 18 a game if memory serves me correct. I will look at the numbers.

He also was nowhere near the winner Isaiah happened to be. He was never the best player on his own team. Isaiah was always the best player on his own team and he had to beat 2 of the best teams in history to win a championship.

Stockton only made the Finals once the West was in decline. Prior to that they'd never made it past the 2nd Round. This while playing with a guy that MANY regarded as the best PF in history.

Isaiah was decidedly better. There was about a 4 year stretch where Isaiah was the equal of Magic Johnson.

Stockton's 5 best seasons he averaged 17 points, 14 assists, 3 steals, 53% FG and 35% 3pt.

Isiah's 5 best years he averaged 20 points, 11 assists, 2 steals, .475% FG and 25%3pt.

Other than scoring Stockton's stats are significantly better. Isiah didn't win a title those 5 years either.

He's below Magic and possibly Curry, but probably no one else.

Definitely ahead of Isaiah who most people have on the same tier or just below Chris Paul all time.

That was after last season. I'd say Curry has moved up past Paul, nash and possibly Stockton after the 2017-18 season.

I always thought Isaiah was higher, but apparently advanced stats are not too kind to Isaiah compared to the other great PGs.

Personally, not being a stats guy, I would have Isaiah behind only Magic, Curry and Stockton.

Where would you rank Stockton LTG? Third behind Isiah?

He'd be in that 5 -10 range for me at best.

He never gets called on his lack of postseason success. Sure they made the Finals but he was about 14 years in at that point. Wasn't an elite point at the time either. Plus the West was in decline. Easier road to the Finals

I think Malone choking had a lot to do with their failures.

I'd rank him between 3 & 5, but if I had to pick a team, he'd be maybe 7,8.

That ESPN list was probably the first time I can remember seeing Oscar listed as a PG. I would also put hin ahead of Stockton. Curry may not be top 10.
