Walton is totally being set up to be booted for Old Chief Triangle's 3rd tenure - and it is the perfect move.

I wanted to name our German Shepherd puppy Phil. I was overruled by the rest of the family and we settled on Walter.

Walter is a great name for a big dog.

Yeah, it’s an homage to Payton. Phil had nothing to do with Jackson. I just thought a dog named Phil would be cool. They convinced me it was a cat name. I agreed.
Our last dog, who passed in January, was a Mastiff/Rottweiler mix. He was about 110 lbs.

His name was Harvey. Harvey was a good dude and still very much missed.

Distinctly human names for dogs are great. I'm going to name my next dog George.

My first cat was named Howard.

I have a 15 yr old cat named Chauncey.

Back to the original subject, I think Phil Jackson would do a much better job coaching LeBron than Magic would.

I never considered Magic a good coaching candidate.

Phil is too old to care about this or the money. He likely doesn't want the drama either.

Phil will never pass up coaching the league's best player.

It is probably what he is best at.

The game has probably passed Phil by and his disciples suck. Plus LeBron isn't a fan of Phil's.

yep, naming my big yellow lab Lionel has turned out to be a perfect name. Have gotten countless compliments on it throughout his long life.

And it shows what a ground floor Lionel Messi fan I was since my dog is going to be 13 in February which means Messi was 17 when I decided to name my dog after him which means I'm either some sort of soccer scout savant or some sicko pedophile who likes young teen latin boys. Either way, great dog name.

I'm not so sure that Lebron is the best player in the game anymore. Or even top 3 to be honest. He looks like he aged a lot over the summer while on the other side there are a handful of guys who are destroying the league right now. Right now, where does Lebron rank on this list...

Steph
Durant
Giannis
Leonard
Davis
Embid

He looks like he realizes that it's a marathon.

it's not really a marathon in the western conference. Not unless your goal is to simply finish amongst the walkers and people with disabilities.

He has to let the kids grow. They aren't going anywhere if LeBron tries to dominate now. January is when he has to turn it up a couple of notches.

No one is asking him to dominate. Maybe just start by pretending you give a shit about defense or is that too much to ask of Bron?

He stopped playing defense about 5 years ago as most older players do. I think they'll be fine.

What LeBron thinks of Phil would change if they were on the same team.

When you are in LeBron's class, you don't have to wait and see. You agree to wanting a guy or not. He won't play for Phil.

Isn't Phil pretty much crippled now with his bad hips and knees?

The last time he was with the Lakers he pitched the idea of him not going to road games until the playoffs.

Plus Lebron hates Phil. Phil called his advisers his "Posse" and Phil has been dead to him ever since.

Plus Jeanie Buss is no longer banging Phil. She dumped his ass. Why would she want her ex boyfriend around? That would be weird.

This comment lead me to the stats page and I was a bit surprised to see Niko Mirotic is averaging 22 & 11
