As I told you I'm going there and here is the bet. Got the Lakers to miss the playoffs for a $100. What say you? You are a "Lover of All Things Lebron" so this should be right in your wheelhouse. Let's go.

It's a bet on LeBron's health, isn't it? I can't see how the Lakers miss the playoffs if he plays in say 65 games or more. But heck you guys are much better at the NBA than me.

Lot of miles on Lebron. He's way overdue for a major injury.

If he wasn't LeBron I would agree. He's indestructible though. Which makes his flops and fake injuries all the more amusing.

The Lakers are more talented than they are getting credit for. Walton is also the 2nd best young coach in the NBA.

Cleveland won 51 with a more talented roster, weaker league, and him playing in all 82. It took 47 games in order to get the 8th seed in the West last season. I will take my chances with this one. A year older and no realistic shot to get out of the first round if does make the playoffs. He has shown that he will quit on teammates when things go sour. I'm rolling the dice on this one.

LA has a significantly more talented roster around him now than Cleveland did last year.

No they don't. I might throw you a $50 bet even if Walt does take it. There isn't a player on this Lakers roster as good as Kevin Love. Cleveland had talent. They were better than they ever got credit for but that tends to happen on most of Lebron's teams

Off the top of my head I don't even know who his competition would be for that. I guess Quinn Snyder isn't very young anymore, but he's a way better coach.

Walton hasn't really shown a lot of evidence that he's a good or even adequate coach yet.

Love is ok. I'll take Kuzma/Ingram over Love/JR, and once you get past that all the Laker players 4-10 are better than the Cavs equivalents.

I don't think it's really close.

I would be shocked if the Bulls didn't win 50 games. Walton is a GREAT coach though.

Julius Randle was more impactful than any of the guys you named and he is gone. IT looked much better once he got away from Lebron and he also looked much better than Ball. JR Smith was about the 5th or 6th best Cavalier player last season. Tristan is much better than Javale and George Hill is better than Lonzo or Rondo.

This one will be fairly easy but I'm not trying to stretch myself too thin with the bets.

After GS, Houston and Utah, lotta questions in the Western Conference.

If Butler ends up traded to the Eastern Conference, that's another open playoff spot in the West. Spurs without Manu, Parker, Kawhi. Westbrook apparently had his 5th knee surgery recently. Westbrook's knee gives out, OKC's out of the playoffs.

Denver will replace Minnesota in the West. Clippers may slide in also. Lebron James played all 82 in a conf that everyone believed was inferior and also had a better roster than what this Lakers squad will trot out. He may not even be all that engaged since he really is trying to get to 19 free agency.

Cleveland won 51 games and it took 47 in order to get the 8th seed. This will be an easy kill. He isn't getting to the playoffs with Journeymen and unproven players. No way.

4 guys that had impact (Randle Lopez IT Clarkson) are all gone. Lonzo Ball    That is who we are counting on? Ingram? wasn't it just last year that most people on here were listening to that Idiot Shakes as he pontificated about how everyone on the team except Lonzo were bums? I sure didn't hear a lot of dissenting opinions as he posted stupid comment after stupid comment. Now they are much more "talented" than Cleveland and it isn't even close. Ok.

Who says I'm losing? You can get in on the action. I don't shirk in bets.

You're in.

Closing down the cage after your bet.

You are in. Let the record show.

If you want to triple or quadruple your money, Lakers are +375 to miss the playoffs at online sports books. Maybe parlay that with the Clippers to make the playoffs at +550. Cuz if the Lakers miss it's likely because the Clippers made it. You'd win about $3000 on a $100 parlay wager combining the Lakers to miss @+375 with the Clippers to make it @ +550.

I don't follow NBA as closely as I used to but I can't imagine theres a way Lakers don't make the playoffs outside of a Lebron injury.
