Not the best first round matchups really.

Toronto/Orlando could be interesting.

D’Lo should go off on Philly but that should be a sweep.

Boston/Indy is interesting only because of Boston’s dysfunction. Really sucks Oladipo isn’t around.

Houston is a tough draw from Utah. Don’t like Utah has much of a chance considering the matchup. Could go 6 games if Mitchell plays well.

Portland is a good draw for Russ. Maybe he’ll finally win more than a couple playoff games in a single year. Going up against an equal in terms of playoff choking.

Don’t give a shit about the 1/8 seed matchups.

Denver and SA is the best series imo and I’m looking forward to it.

Ultimately, the critics are right this year. There’s zero chance outside of injury GS doesn’t win the title again.

I’ll willing to tolerate a boring first round because the 2nd round and on should be excellent. (Again, outside of teams that face GS, they’re gonna run through this thing outside of injury or extreme Draymond or whatever dysfunction)

Nuggets-Trailblazers played seeding-chicken tonight.

Nuggets (deliberately?) lost to Portland the other night and needed PDX to beat the Kings tonight to knock Houston down to the 4th seed.

Trailblazers tossed a wrench in Denver's plan and rested their main guys to start tonight and were down 25 to the Kings at half-time.

So Denver re-calibrated and decided they'd rather play OKC in the 1st round (whom they swept 4-0 in the season series, winning by 10+) than deal with Pop's bs in the 1st round (Spurs-Nugs split season series) ...

plot-twist: late in the 4th and Denver's down by 11 to a KAT-less Wolves, dreaming of a quick 1st round sweep of the hapless Thunder when they notice that Portland came back and beat the Kings. aw, hell, win and we kick the Rockets down to the 4th seed?! Down 11 with about 4 minutes left, Nuggets D up, keep Wolves from scoring a single point in the last 4 minutes and win 99-95.

Kings pulled starters in 2nd half after both Heat/Charlotte lost; which marginally improved their lottery chances by putting SAC/MIA/CHA in a 3 way tie for lowest odds in draft lottery. But I don't think the Kings even keep their 1st round pick this year. So maybe the Kings wanted to help out Denver or screw Houston/Golden State by putting them on track for the 2nd round.

ESTE
- (1) Bucks - (8) Pistons
- (2) Raps - (7) Magic
- (3) 76ers - (6) Nets
- (4) Celtics - (5) Pacers

OESTE
- (1) Warriors - (8) Clippers
- (2) Nuggets - (7) Spurs
- (3) Blazers - (6) Thunder
- (4) Rockets - (5) Jazz

Minutes played in all games this season prior to tonight:

Gary Trent JR 35 minutes total over 14 games
Skal Labissiere 24 minutes / 8 games
Anfernee Simons 95 minues/ 19 games

Just like every year the NBA playoffs are going to suck. Last year the first round was good and everything after that was basically shit aside from GS vs Houston and some good games in the Philly vs Boston series.

That said, you're sleeping on the Nets. I'm picking them to beat Philly. At the very least it will be a great series, no way it will be a sweep. No team in the league plays harder than the Nets.

There's almost no chance the Nets beat Philly. That would take a MAJOR Philly implosion.

Your comment on the NBA playoffs overall is just recency bias. Last 2 years have sucked but generally speaking the playoffs are fuckin awesome after the first round.

I'm only talking about the last couple years since that's when I started paying attention after a long basketball hiatus.

Yeah if he doesn't play the Nets definitely have a shot.

There's 3 teams in the East this year that would beat last year's Cavs.

I've never been known as a gracious winner. Not that I won anything, the series is far from over. But, it looks pretty clear it's going to be a tough one for Philly.

I staked out the Nets/Sixers as a Philly gut check and one of the 2 most interesting series. Ultimately, I hope Philly survives, and if they do, I think they may FINALLY start clicking on all cylinders.

I don't think they can beat Milwaukee. I definitely underestimated the Nets though.
