Still, the book on him is he can't shoot and can't play defense. Who's a good player that you can say both those things about? I'm really struggling with that one. I can excuse one of those two things if you're elite elsewhere but not both.

I think his game translates well to the modern NBA. The best players are either great shooters - which he is not or the others are flashy playmakers. That’s Ball. He’s going to be a great ball handler and passer that can get to the bucket at will. As a rookie he will be all over the highlight reel and a few years down the road he will also be a solid defender.

Has no bearing on Lamelo but his brother so far has turned into a good player. Overhyped to be sure but...long dude who can pass, penetrate and d up. Also started shooting more this past year. Zippy's description reminds me of lonzo.

I’ve never given up on Lonzo being good, much to 312player’s amusement. But he was very good defensively from the first game he ever played in the nba. That’s a big difference maker for non shooters.

Patrick Williams might be a worse choice than Ball. I am confident Ball would have started at a mid tier D1 like Florida St.

Lonzo isn't a top 20 point guard..thats a bust for a #2 pick.
