I've watched nearly every Lakers game this year....it's honestly terrible basketball more often than not but great theater. Last night LeBron smacked a Pistons player in the face and made the guy bleed like a stuck pig. The player then bull rushed James not once but twice. LeBron is headed to a suspension, I would hope, and well deserved. Dude lost his temper over an aggressive box out. The team is going to be good, but the pieces are so ill-fit together. They managed to beat the Pistons only because Cade Cunningham decided to wuss out in the final 3 minutes and because Russ Westbrook decided to attack the hole every single possession. And because the Pistons are the Pistons. Poor Duane Casey. Russ is the main problem on the team. He can't shoot from outside of 15 feet, so he's actually a liability on offense when LeBron and Anthony Davis are on the floor with him. Davis has been magnificent when he wants to be. But he's also spent a ton of time appearing to loaf and whine at officiating. He's also clearly going to always struggle with nagging soft tissue injures at this stage in his career. Carmelo Anthony has been quite good though. Reliable outside shooting and he'll muck it up a bit on defense. DeAndre Jordan has been pretty useless and Dwight Howard is still a child. He's warming up on the basket while the team is in the huddle more times than I can count. He's got talent, it's just eroding and he clearly doesn't understand the offense, constantly messing up their sets, and now launches 3's with impunity, although he's actually making a decent percentage. I don't think the Lakers can afford to put LeBron and Davis on the floor without 3 good shooters around them. It's honestly fun to watch Russ run around like a chicken with his head cut off and turn the ball over repeatedly. And in the halfcourt, the guy just misses open shot after open shot. It's like the best soap opera out there. I'll be watching all year. |

There's like a 10% chance they'll be even remotely healthy by the playoffs anyway. |

Unique words among Nas' first 35,000 words of creative output vs the first 5,000 words of 7 of Shakespeare's best plays; mostly middle to later period Shakespeare (Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Macbeth, As You Like It, Winter's Tale, and Troilus and Cressida): Shakespeare: 5,170 Nas: 5,096 |

The Lakers are 20/1 right now to win the championship. That's exactly what their odds were right around this time in 2019, in the weeks leading up to the rumored Anthony Davis trade. I don't know if the Nets are going to take Westbrook for Kyrie -- but I've got to think the Lakers are going to make a big move. |

I guess it is time for kids to read Nas' lyrics in school. |
