I don't have a clue if I could've handled traveling around the world playing ball in style like that kid.

7'4" wow.

Has there ever been a guy that tall whose career wasn't derailed by injuries?

That kid looks like he's one fall away from being Sam Bowie. Add some weight and muscle.

Do you remember when Giannis was drafted?

He had a "man's" frame. You could tell he would fill out his body. I didn't think he would grow a few more inches.

So does this kid, it takes time to get that man weight on there.

Giannis was all of 6'9" 190 pounds when drafted at just a hair under age 19. Antetokounmpo has since grown another 2 or 3 inches and packed on another 50 pounds.

Wembanyama reports have him anywhere from 7'2" and change to 7'4" and anywhere from 210 to 230 pounds currently at age 18. So it's not a bad comparison.

Victor W not going to be able to bang bodies down inside and run guys over right away, but then Giannis wasn't the freight train Giannis he is now his first few years in the NBA. And Wembanyama's outside shooting will make him a valuable starter immediately in the league without having to muscle up against the few remaining true bigs in the NBA, which has gotten smaller on the inside and taller on the perimeter. If Wembanyama were entering the league in 1992, he'd be toast against the Charles Oakleys and Patrick Ewings of that era and that style of play. As long as Wembanyama isn't drafted by Portland, who I think drafted Bowie and Oden and maybe one other big who washed out due to injuries? 1st round bigs are cursed on that franchise.
