I was a LeBron hater for more than a decade, but his level of sustained greatness over 20 years has never been seen before on the basketball court. Similar to Brady, he's beating Father Time. This puts him in the GOAT conversation, even with the 6 L's in the Finals. |

There’s some precedent in another sport where players performed extremely well at an age they should have been declining. Nobody wants to raise that comp for the NFL/NBA. |

With apologies to Bill Russell, he’s one of the 3 greatest of all times, but him not being a closer will never put him above MJeff or Magic imho. |

He's confident enough to know he was easily the best non-center and he doesn't need to boast about it. |

Nice try Nas, but no one believes you. Next can you create a thread about how Nolan Ryan is the GOAT for baseball too |

I’ll leave you with two things: 1) 42, 15 & 7 jumping center in game 6 as a rookie & 2) Kareem was a disappointment in LA until Magic got there. Oh, and one Finals loss came four months before his public announcement of him getting HIV, one against arguably the greatest team of all time in Philly and one against Bird, who was a far better fourth quarter player than anyone except Michael. |

He's comfortable in his skin. That being said, with the game on the line, I'm taking Bird over Magic every day of the week. Magic's the best PG, though. |

I love Magic. Little Nas read every book in the library that was about him. I'm a Kobe guy; it isn't personal with Magic. |

What is the argument that LeBron is better than Kobe? Just like Aaron Rodgers, LeBron was on pace to pass everyone but MJ(Tom Brady) but he didn't have a good enough finish to his career to get close. |

Jordan Kobe Lebron I really hate(d) Lebron, but you have to acknowledge his greatness in keeping his body in incredible shape. He really plays no D anymore, and he's a massive massive whiner, but there may not be another one like him. He's an extension of the kind of player Magic was (with a way better jumper late in his career) and Oscar Robertson. Didn't win enough Finals for how good a player he was....still somewhat passive in big moments, that's what puts Kobe and Jordan over the top for me. |

About to pass Kareem in points to be #1. Kareem never seems to get mentioned in GOAT conversations. |
