Seeing as this doesn't exactly apply to the Garnett thread and seeing how several other NBA teams have their own thread, I figured we could use a seperate Celtics thread. Anyway, all I have to say about this is no...no...god no.....NOOOOO!!!!!! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2966170 |

That is laughable. Danny Ainge doesn't have much more basketball IQ than Isaiah Thomas apparently. Hasn't he forgotten that Reggie's been bad since about 2000? And apparently the Celtics will be allowed to use four basketballs on the court: one for Garnett, Pierce, Allen, and Miller. |

The Karl Malone movie was so good, we needed a sequel, huh? Celtics need a big man, desperately. Why is Danny overloading the one place he’s strongest, the 2 guard? He’s got Ray Allen & Paul Pierce, and the best bench player he has is Tony Allen, another SG. Plus they just signed Eddie House, who plays… the friggin’ 2 guard! A genius at work, clearly. |

Better yet, Ainge himself could lace 'em up and step back on the court for one more year. |

What's Wayman Tisdale up to these days? Still playing smooth jazz? Maybe they can entice him |

Charles Smith is available. I'm sure he's still pissed about the final seconds of Game 5 of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals. |

Yeah if they can get 1 or 2 more guys like him, I would start to be worried about them come playoff time. |

It's a good move for them, he'll be a good energy/stopper kind of guy. I think they should be going after Ruben Patterson too |

Im not giving them a 17th championship yet. For one Doc is their coach, so thats a huge bonus for us right there. And if 1 of the big 3 goes down they have no chance of beating us. Even if they field a completely healthy team in the playoffs, I think we have the talent and depth to beat them in a 7 game series. |

I watched a little of the Celtics-Raptors pre-season tilt from Italy last night. Still very strange to see KG out there in green....Anyway, Pierce and KG looked pretty good but the Raptors kinda surprised me as they were putting out a pretty good defensive effort for a pre-season game. I would have liked to have seen how their reserves played but I couldn't really justify watching much more of it since the Bears game and the baseball game were on at the same time |

Im not sold on Boston but they have looked damn good so far in preseason. The 2004 Lakers were the same way though, so anything could still happen, but KG looks really in sync with Piece and Ray Ray. If Rondo, Perkins, and Posey can give them anything they will be dangerous. |

If you saw the game last night against the Knicks, I think it was just more the Knicks looking absolutely pathetic. But you're right, so far the chemistry has looked good, and KG was even off last night- missed a lot of short jumpers and putbacks. I also like what I've seen so far from Rondo and Perkins. Not trying to do too much, they seem to be accepting their roles and playing well within them. The big test will be the 2nd unit- if they can do anything, even tread water, it's over. Eddie House looked decent as did Glen Davis. Can't wait for the season to start |

Another major obstacle they will have to overcome besides their 2nd unit is Doc Rivers. |

He's tried and failed a few times now, but I think he will finally do it this series. |
