I could be crazy, but I think the Wolves could be a pretty good team in a couple years, despite McHale fucking up the Garnett trade (in that he obviously could have gotten more).

Al Jefferson is a stud, and they locked him up with a decent contract. That's going to be a nice piece to build around. They got rid of the clubhouse cancer (Ricky Davis), and although they took back Antoine Walker, he seems to have accepted his situation and actually isn't playing all that bad. When his contract comes off the books, they'll have a decent amount of money to go after free agents. I know, free agents don't exactly flock to Minnesota, but in today's NBA landscape, fewer and fewer teams have cap space to sign a big contract. That could help them.

Their young players are promising too- Brewer doesn't look so hot right now, but McCants is actually developing, and they've still got Foye coming back from injury.

I think if they make a splash in free agency and add a role player or two they could be right back in the thick of things

If (and of course it's always a big IF), IF Sebastian Telfair could ever develop a jumper, he'd be a top 5 PG in the league, easily

He's been getting a lot of time this year, and I've been watching him a lot. His passes are so crisp, so effortless...he is an incredible passer.

It's just that teams sag their defense on him and give him the open jumper all day, because he can't hit it consistently. That makes his half court game a lot less effective, even when he's driving to the hole no one thinks he's going to shoot it. Plus with his size it's hard for him to finish at the basket

But in the open court- man, that guy is awesome running a fast break

Its nice to see Bassy and Smith getting PT over Toine and Jaric. It didnt make sense to me why a 15 win team would play 30 year old guys. Its like Wally World and Kurt Thomas getting PT in Seattle. I think Minnesota has a ways to go, but Foye could end up being a huge lift for them.
