Seems like Nellie was the one who really brought this to the forefront, in my mind it goes something like this Pressey - Pippen - GHill - LeBron? Though i have heard Marques Johnson brought up in bar room conversations, wasn't around to see him though. |

I think Penny Hardaway in his prime would have to be somewhere in the team photo...probably even moreso than Hill. Hill wasn't much of a ball-handler and I don't really remember him running / initiating the offense. Penny was pretty much the floor general on those Orlando teams. |

You could maybe throw Chris Webber in there also, although definitely more predominantly a forward. Its funny, but all four names you mentioned fit the description, yet all play distinctly different from one another. What Lebron is doing has never been done before. He has the body of a Power Forward and game of a Point Guard. He needs to work on his outside shot, but once that comes he will be completely unguardable. |

I might be feeding Coast To Coast's argument a bit, but if M-Jeff had to face a Cavaliers team led by LeBron James every year, history might be written a little differently. But I digress, that's not the topic at hand. |

I still maintain that Pippen was and is the "prototype" Pressey was more of an stocky guard that liked to mix it up in the lane and rebound; hell even Q Richardson can rebound; Ghill was a great player, led his team in scoring, rebounds and assists if i recall, but lacked Pip's one on one defensive ability and was extremely fragile; Lebron, scary thing is he is still evolving Pippen had it all, handle, unselfishness, ability to post up, pick off steals in transiton, guard one on one, and defer to a greater player. |

Riley also liked to have Mace bring the ball up, this was true in the Knicks and Heat eras. another lesser example is Celtics-era Antoine Walker, Larry Johnson on the Hornets and Knicks... |

Not that this wasn't already my favorite section, but it really seems like a battered women shelter right now. Safe from the trolls, abusive language and challenging everyone and their brother to a fight |

+1. There's only a few of us that post in here, but its always quality posts and never any annoying interruptions or hijacked threads. |

Good call Didn't Detlef Schempf do that on occasion too? I seem to remember him doing that, Seattle or Indiana era Schrempf... then again when you are playing with the likes of Dale Ellis, Tom chambers, Jermain O'Neal, Rik smits, Reggie Miller (Mark Jackson excepted), none of whom had good handles, and like to have plays run for them, somebody had to handle the ball. I'm not sure but Scrhempf might have been the first guy to win both the dunk and 3 point competitions? |
