Post subject:  Announcers

Being fortunate enough to have had League Pass for more than 10 years, I've learned to appreciate (and also despise) some of the local announcers.

For one thing, I really wish I had got to hear more of Chick Hearn. He was so great in just the short time I got to hear him. GREAT enthusiasm for the game and maybe a bit hokey and excessive with the catch phrases, but highly entertaining

I also remember some of the national broadcasters now that started locally...like Kevin Harlan who used to be with the Timberwolves. You could tell he wasn't going to stay with them for very long. You also had Bill Walton doing a lot of Clippers games, The Snapper Steve Jones doing Trailblazers games (now does Sonics) and Matt Guokas doing the Magic games

It's also funny to hear some of the really bad homers suddenly switch teams. For example Joel Meyers used to do the Spurs game, and was just about as bad as Hawk Harrelson complaining about bad calls against the Spurs. Now he's doing the Lakers games and doing the exact same thing.

With that perspective, I have to say we really don't have very good announcers. Granted it's mainly due to Kerr's increasing senility, but I never really cared much for Dore. He's OK but Jim Durham was so much better. And while Burger King has made the booth more amiable, I'm kind of souring on him too
